| Important: First, This plot is not officially approved yet. Secondly, if it is approved, this plot won't even start until at least late October, early November or much later! Thirdly, I'm mostly writing this now to preserve the idea before my brain forgets it. (Because it will. It definitely will.)
Sign-ups are not open.
~~~~~~~~Welcome to our Show~~~~~~~~ The circus has come to the forest... or at least, the cats have... The Circus: It was once a place of many colours. Where twolegs did strange things, difficult things, some of which no cat would even dare. Balance on a thin wire smaller than a cat's paw, dance on bright white horses, even going so far as to breathe fire. They were rewarded with plenty of the strange green paper that twolegs seemed to love so much, sometimes even bright coins which fell to the tent floor with the popcorn and trash. That was then... ... and this is now. The once bright lit tarps now lay draped sadly over heaps of metal sticks. The bright metal boxes that once held their twolegs lay desolate, scattered... abandoned. Stacks of hay once carefully maintained were now littered with bugs and mice. Their parents had held high hopes for the cats of the circus' future, but now they would never be realised. Not here. The final curtain fell when the wailing monsters took the twolegs. The Plot: - Act 1:
It's the middle of Leaf-fall. The trees are losing their leaves and prey is scampering about to find and store their gatherings. It starts like any other, the warriors of every clan dutifully providing and preparing themselves for the upcoming leaf-bare. Especially after the last one, when murders abounded and death stalked every clan. When the great war between RiverClan and ThunderClan divided the forest with tremendous blows.
It's during a gathering when some of the senior warriors break out into conversation, hoping that this leaf-bare brings more peace and less trouble than the last. A couple young cats overhear the stories, and are concerned. The well-being of all the clans depended on the prey and the clans as a whole. What if this leaf-bare was worse? When the gathering ends, all cats disperse, but the seed has been planted. There has to be a way to find more prey.
- Act 2:
Restless, the two cats meet up one night at fourtrees. They discuss the potential options, but decide on one. The best way to combat the lack of prey and herbs had to be to find more. They disperse to spread the message to allies in their nearest clans, and all meet once again at the quarter-moon. Five cats, with at least two warriors among them, to search out a place that would provide ample prey and herbs for the duration of leaf-bare. Leaving their clans behind for the better of every cat.
- Act 3:
Leaf-bare hits hard while the cats are on their journey. They've travelled past the two-leg place, have circled around the forest several times and even found a mountain, but nothing more than a mouse and an occaisional squirrel. Tempers between the cats begin to fray as each one slowly reconsiders and finds themselves wanting nothing more than to go home and curl up in the familiarity of their own dens. As they argue and nearly reach physical blows, they stumble on the ruins of an old circus. Mice rustle in the hay, and it's too tempting to resist. They end up staying the night.
- Act 4:
When the clan cats wake up, they're warm and comfortable, surrounded by the warm bodies of cats unfamiliar to them. When the new cats find out the clan cats are awake, they move off and stare at them curiously. These are the first strange cats they've seen in many moons. The circus cats are intrigued, and continually quiz the clan cats while providing them with food and shelter in a ratty trailer with plenty of holes. When the clan cats propose to move on, whether to go back to the clans or continue searching, the strange cats plead and beg the clan cats to stay. It's been too long since they've seen outsiders.
- Act 5:
When the clan cats do finally leave, the circus cats are left bemused, bewildered and concerned. The clan cats were so adamant on returning to their 'clan'. Will they make it there? It sounds like such a long way. They look around and puzzle for a day, thinking it over and pausing their decision for the next moon. They don't get the luxury of waiting that long. Twolegs with strange monsters appear one morning, and the circus cats are forced into abandoning the only remnants of home that once remained. Now completely alone, they decide to follow the clan cats. Perhaps catching up with them as they relay what has happened, and a desire to see the home where the clan cats came from.
- Act 6:
When the circus cats make it to the forest, they are in awe. The gathering is only darkness away, and the clan cats slowly guide the cats to the one place they can be assured some safety. Fourtrees. The circus cats arrive as the gathering begins, and the leader of the circus cats jovially leaps onto high-rock, utterly unaware of the offence of the action as he introduces the circus cats to the gathering. This, of course, prompts not only discussion on the strangers, but the clan cats who lead them here.
When confronted, the circus cats declare their innocent intentions. That they are not out for any clan cat blood or even their forest home, but a place to once again belong after their own was ripped away.
- Act 7:
Depending on which clans are open to accepting any outsiders, the circus cats will be split-up to clans where their own individual talents can be recognised. Most cats will work hard to demonstrate their ability and desire to learn and adapt to their new lifestyle, while some may not take it so well and bail to the nearest twoleg place in the hopes of new twolegs. The former circus cats will commit a variety of offences, without actually meaning to. Their skills shared with those of their clan.
Okay so first of all, if you read all that, you get a cookie. *tosses a cookie* I didn't realise it would be so long. I guess I had more planned than I orignally thought. Please note the sign-ups are not ready yet, and won't be until I submit this for approval to see if it will be. If not... well... guess I have a fanfic in the making? Anyways, here is the briefest summary: Tl;dr, the basic structure - A couple cats get concerned about the coming leaf-bare - They gather five or so cats to leave the forest to find more food for the clans - They spend the rest of leaf-fall and are roughly halfway through leaf-bare outside the clans experiencing the harsh life outside of them. - They are starving, arguable and beginning to act out amongst themselves when they finally turn in for a night - They are found by a troupe of abandoned circus cats, who are curious and feed off mice who live in leftover haybales. - The circus cats convince the clan cats to stay for a bit to recover their strength, and let them put on a show. - After the clan cats leave, twolegs and monsters come to rip apart the former circus, sending the cats out and the circus cats decide to follow the clan cats - They arrive together or only a little apart from each other. The circus cats get to fourtrees and make the announcement that they're here. - The circus cats divide into different clans as per clan rules. They may accidentally break rules such as visiting a fellow now former circus mate, eating prey prior to putting it on the fresh-kill, etc. A very important point to make: The Circus Cats have no interest in taking over the forest. Some of them may leave to live with twolegs, perhaps a couple view the clan cats initial visit as a curse that the clans now need to fix. They will not go on a murderous rampage. Let's have a fun light-hearted plot after all the drama! ______________________________________ Kestrelpaw ♀ Marshkit ♂
| I can finally make my rouge, Jack! This sounds awesome. ______________________________________ Sunleap – T1 TC Warrior – #009966 | Bearpaw – TC Apprentice – #0066ff Feral/ #006666 Forest Bear's 1/2 Feral Buffs- Spoiler:
Natural Instinct +1 to all Hunting rolls regardless of location, clan and prey.
Feral Ferocity (Passive) Negates all other clans’ passives. Having true wild cat blood makes your character hardier, with better survivability and highly adaptable to changes in the environment, as well as confrontations with rivals. With this passive, no cat regardless of clan or training will have a passive advantage over yours. Star Striker is the exception and is still active.
| This sounds real good! I might put Traveller Norte or some other rogue to sign up once it’s approved, though I don’t think Traveller would want to stay in a clan for long since he is nomadic. ______________________________________ ~ WCC's resident lizard person ~ and holder of the Magical Name-Changing Wand, which is currently under a curse done by an evil witch which makes it do nothing but make an explosion of rainbows.
