What are the duties of a medicine cat : Treat wounds, provide advice or simply lend their ears to whoever needs them. As an apprentice, the medicine cat is tasked with learning all herbs, mixtures, and healing practices. Keeping a cool head is vital when dealing with clanmates in danger. They also must interpret signs from StarClan and pass on their findings to their leader.

In difficult situations, a medicine cat should be able to pitch in and help solve the problem. Medicine cats must not take a mate or have kits. A medicine cat should not get caught up in the rivalries of the clans but be prepared to use claws if necessary to protect themselves or their clan. Retaining a healthy relationship within their clan and with other clans is an unspoken duty that will prevent much grief. Strong bonds may save lives.

What you would do with this position :

I will be even more enthusiastic than I was with my loners when it comes to medicine. I will be as active as possible when I am needed as I know holding up topics is frustrating for everyone involved. On top of that, I will offer my medicine cat apprentice for others when it comes to needing advice or venting with their characters.

With Rainkit, I love character arcs. He is rather prideful and it gets in the way of his curious nature. Insisting he knows everything and can do it all himself. In this role, there are only a few places he can get the information to be a medicine cat. This will teach him humility. Rainkit also struggles with understanding delayed gratification and would get frustrated with the long process of learning herbs and even healing cats. He must learn patience through this process. A little farther into his life, he will develop a fear of blood that must be worked through if he plans on helping his clan. He certainly has focus and passion, he dislike being interrupted when he's doing something. He just needs a push to pursue medicine.

Why you think you deserve this position : I've had a long time as an unofficial medicine cat with my cats Pepper and less so, Bat. I know most of the techniques and often, I can spot the herbs in real life rather quickly. (Horsetail and dock leaves are very easy to identify.) I think being an official medicine cat would be a whole lot of fun and if it's as much of an adventure if it's as much of an adventure as it had been when I was unofficial.
