Swimming through the waters that surrounded their camp, Ivystar made sure to keep her precious cargo of herbs above the waterline as she came onto the island. She was greeted with a trills of kits and the eager meows of the apprentices that they'd all left behind. She had worried a bit that ThunderClan would do something to them whilst they were distracted by WindClan, but that was all just her paranoia. Blizzardstar didn't have the ruthlessness or the cunning to commit such an act. Her clan was save, and with these paltry herbs, they'd remain safe.

Dropping the green bundle onto the lightly snow-dusted sand, she took a deep breath of fresh RiverClan air before calling out to all to gather. "Let all cat old enough to catch their own prey, gather around me for a clan meeting!"

-

Behind Ivystar, Otterleap scrambled onto the river bank, in his jaws was a pair of fat rabbits he had taken from WindClan camp. It seemed that they had been having more luck than RiverClan regarding their hunts, and though there was a twinge of guilt for taking their bounty, he steeled himself with the knowledge Ashstar would have done the same. He saw how cold these WindClanners were to them, spitting that RiverClan was better off dying en masse. That RiverClan were unworthy to exist. They were cold-blooded monsters that felt no guilt for maiming a StarClan blessed cat like Goldeneye, and took pride in their selfishness.

Dropping the rabbits off on their meagre fresh-kill pile, the senior warrior settled his old bones by Ivystar.

Goldeneye peaked out of the den with the sounds of cats trudging through water, blood and the familiar scent of her camp-mates wafting into the camp. The young she-cat strode out, grasping the herbs that Ivystar laid to rest immediately and dusting away the snow in a particularly sunny spot, any moisture would rot them, and they were too precious to lose. Turning to her clan-mates as the spilled into the camp, she inspected each and every one of them, beckoning the worse of them towards where she had the herbs laying in the sun.

Goldeneye licked her paws clean, cooling them in the snow as she pressed snow into the worse of the wounds before cleaning them with her tongue and pressing a polituce into them, wrapping cobwebs around the mixture to keep it in their wounds.

"Not all of them are for us, Goldeneye. Save some for ShadowClan and SkyClan." Ivystar quietly meowed to her medicine cat, the leader knew how precious these leaves were, but the good will they could provide was worth the cost. ShadowClan and SkyClan were perhaps the only thing holding their enemies across the river at bay.

Shadepaw grinned widely as the large patrol set to attack WindClan's camp returned with bundles of herbs and even prey. "Hey, you have herbs! And prey! That means you won, right? Yeah, that'll show those scaredy-fish what happens when they mess with RiverClan!"

~~~~~
Sweetheart watched from the mouth of the nursery, drawing Birchkit closer to her with her tail. She narrowed her eyes disapprovingly. She never likes Ivystar's idea to raid WindClan of the precious herbs in the first place, but now they took their fresh-kill, too? The more awful things she watched Ivystar do to the other Clans, the less she saw of her as a leader and more of a bully.
Spotfur stood up in surprise. He had been pacing ever since they left. What if Windclan won? What if someone died? What if, what if. Then he had laid down to eat. Now he saw Riverclan coming with prey and herbs. Way too much to have been borrowed and caught.
How much had they taken from Windclan?
Scorchpaw had spent the day in frustrated helplessness. Because he had not been chosen to fight in the battle, the only thing he could do was stay behind and protect the camp. Although he was aware that it was an important job, knowing that his clanmates were at battle and being unable to help them was agonizing to him. His claws itched for action, to be raked through flesh and fur and send droplets of blood scattering, but instead he dug them into the ground and sat still. He watched Spotpaw pacing, but didn't join him. After what seemed like an eternity of waiting, the scent of the returning patrol reached him. In an instant, Scorchpaw was on his paws, gaze directed towards the camp entrance. His green eyes widened at the sight of the herbs and prey they carried in their jaws. They had won! At that realization, relief swept through him like a wave. As he padded towards the returned patrol, he tried not to think about the fact that the herbs and prey had been taken from WindClan. RiverClan needed all the prey and herbs they could get.
"Hold still! You'll just make your wounds worse!" Splashwillow scolded through a mouthful of Adderpaw's scruff, her voice straining as she helped her daughter scramble up the river bank. Although having to haul the young apprentice up made her wounds ache even more, she was still quite reluctant to let the young she-cat exert anymore energy than necessary. Even with their newfound surplus of prey and herbs, she didn't want to risk losing another kit so soon. She knew that Lakewhisper was likely helping Snowblossom back, but she made a note to go and check on the pair before the day was at an end.
Keeping close on Ivystar's heels, the little RiverClanner headed towards a snow-free patch beside the Nursery, intent on taking a few moments to relax. Dropping to the soft earth with a slight sigh, Splashwillow sprawled out in the weak sunlight as she listened to Ivystar summon the rest of the Clan. Resting her head upon her bloodied paws, the calico's gaze drifted back and forth between the various pelts of her kits.
"I'll be fine!" Adderpaw groaned, eyes rolling as her mother's teeth pricked at the wild fur of her scruff, kicking up a bit of mud as she clawed her way up the riverbank. The tender flesh of her belly screamed at the movement, but the lingering adrenaline within her veins helped chase away the worst of the pain. Picking up the small hare that she had managed to scoop up while they raided WindClan's camp, she wobbled after Splashwillow. Although stealing WindClan's prey alongside their herbs seemed a bit strange, the thought of the tom who attacked her going hungry helped justify her Clan's actions. It's what they deserved!
Flinging the limp hare off to the side, Adderpaw ignored the way that the dried blood in her fur pulled and pinched painfully as she teetered towards Spotfur and Scorchpaw. "Of course we won- they could hardly fight! Look at how much we managed to take from those harebrained idiots!" She exclaimed in response to Shadepaw, awkwardly dropping onto her haunches as she spoke.
Bluepaw trekked back into with her head raised high and a plump rabbit in her jaws.It was her start battle against an enemy clan. Windclan was cold-hearted hard for not helping them in time of need.They got what they deserved and all well in the end.The large cuts on her body still stung a bit but she ignores it.She dropped the rabbit in the fresh pile and join her clanmates for the meeting.
The blue-grey tabby followed his mother closely carrying a bunch of herbs on his mouth. Thanks to Batfang's help, his wounds weren't as bad as the ones he got from the Thunderclan battle so he was pretty good. The deputy wasn't comfortable with the idea of keeping all of Windclan's fresh-kill. It felt... wrong. But his clan also needed to be feed and his mate was soon to have kits. His future kits needed food.
Jaystream left Ivystar side and approached Goldeneye, giving her a tired smile. He put down the herbs and lowered his ears, remembering that she might scold him for not taking good care of himself during the fighting. "I brought you some of the herbs you needed but I couldn't miss some of Brindlewhisker's attacks and well... as you might see, I got some wounds. Sorry..." He mewed with a sorry and nervous smile.
