Smokewish was curled up at the back of the nursery. It all happened so quickly, and now she held kits of her own. It was a marvellous thing. Even though the nursery was cramped, it was dark and warmer than the rest of the camp, so she didn't mind too much. It would have been calm and peaceful, if her swollen belly wasn't so awkward. She shifted her position again, trying to get more comfortable, when it hit her. A sharp pang of pain that lanced through her belly. The kits wanted to be born, and they wanted to be born now. And then came an urge, one she had never felt before. It wasn't telling her to fight. It was telling her to push. "Spotfur! The kits!" She yelped, gritting her teeth and narrowing her eyes.

IC: Spotfur was about to head out with a patrol when he heard Smokewish's urgent voice from the nursery. He gasped a little and glanced towards the den opening. Then he stepped back. "I- I'm sorry- I'll go on a later patrol, find someone else!" He dashed across camp to Goldeneye and Cloudstone's den. "Goldeneye, Smokewish's kits are coming!" Then he turned and ran into the nursery. "Goldeneye will be right here, don't worry, Smokewish! I'll be right here the whole time!"

Goldeneye was leaping out of her den with soaked moss in her jaws, right behind Spotfur as she dipped into the nursery. Gently, the she-cat rested the moss at Smokewishes mouth. Settling next to the she-cat she pressed her paws against her belly, feeling and palpating, feeling three read-to-go lumps she purred. "You need to be pushing Smokewish. Spotfur, you should be getting a stick." She sternly hissed, her paws moving mildly skill-fully, helping the queen just the littlest bit. "All I can tell right now Smokewish is that you've three kits on the way." Goldeneye coo'd.

Spotfur glanced around and stepped out to grasp a stick. "Bite this," He said, as he handed it to his mate.

The queen felt comforted by the presence of Goldeneye and Spotfur as another agonising spasm rolled down her belly. She screwed her eyes tight shut and grabbed the stick as instructed, biting down hard.

At long last, it was over. She had three beautiful kits at her side. Finally, she had family. A purr rumbled in her throat as she watched them with adoration, bending down to lick their heads. She couldn't be any happier.

Nightkit mewed quietly. She was by her mothers side, trying to understand what was going on. She had just been born, therefor she couldn't see anything. She was huddled near her mother and two brothers. She sensed other cats, but she couldn't feel them, so she gave up and started to suckle her mother.

Mudkit nuzzled around for his mothers milk. When he found it he started drinking. He couldn't see yet but he could hear. He heard three cats and recognized one sound as his mothers. There was two other cats next to him and he wondered who they where.

Spotfur purred and nuzzled his three healthy kits. "They're perfect." He said happily.

Sweetheart had been laying as far back from the laboring queen as she could to give Goldeneye space to help her deliver safely. Now that the three new kits had arrived, she purred happily for her two best friends. "Oh, Smokewish, Spotfur, congratulations! Your kits are so beautiful!"

Mistkit mewed quietly as he drank the delicious milk his mother provided. His eyes shut and his ears layed back on his head. He was softly purring as well. He looked like a mix of his parents. Once his tummy was full, the tiny tom-kit snuggled against his siblings. He was a bit cold.

Smokewish managed another weak purr, nuzzling between their ears and curling her body around them in an attempt to help them warm up. Spotfur and Sweetheart's voices made her feel even happier. Her mate and her best friend were here, and nothing could ruin that. "Aren't they just the sweetest things?" She cooed, her voice full of admiration for her kits.

Silverfang knew that her son was going to have kits soon and when she saw Goldeneye entering the nursery, she knew that it was because of Spotfur's kits. The warrior waited outside until they were born and she made her way into the den to greet and congratulate both parents. The she-cat ignored Sweetheart as he passed by toward Smokewish and the three kits. "They're beautiful, Smokewish. You did a great job, indeed." She purred sincerely. If she had a weak spot, it was for the younger members of her own family. Now, she was a grandmother. "What are their names, darling?" She asked both Spotfur and Smokewish with a smile.

Goldeneye grasped each kit gently, pressing her heads to their chests and clearing their noses with the rasp of her tongue, cleaning their fur and warming them while getting their breathing stimulated. Once she finished checking them over she let Smokewish suckle them and bond. "Congratulations. All three of them are strong and healthy, I've no doubt they'll make the rest of leaf-bare. Keep an eye on any illnesses or loss of appetite." Goldeneye purred, getting to her paws and passing the cats quickly swarming and crowding the den, she took her leave.

Mudkit squirmed when he got picked up then mewed as he got set down. Why was there so many voices and scents. He nuzzled next to his mothers belly and wondered what the world looked like and if it was always gonna be black.

Spotfur looked at Sweetheart happily then heard his mother's voice and looked at her, eyes shining. "The brown and white one's Mudkit, because of his brown fur that blends into the mud. That grey and white one is Mistkit, because of the smoky mist at the top of the morning. This little black and silver one is Nightkit, the only she-cat, because of the beautiful night sky on the night I asked Smokewish to be my mate."
