A Tiny Russet Acorn Amidst the Witch Hazel Blossoms and Birch Leaves[Open]

As the sun rose higher in the sky away from the horizen rays of light entered the clearing through the leaves above, making the morning dew sparkle on the foliage. Warmth from the sun setteled into the area momentarily before a gust of icy wind chased it away, making it clear that leafbare was not yet over. Inside the nursery, Tinykit blinked open her hazel eyes with a yawn. Without looking around to see what her mother or siblings were doing Tinykit padded towards the entrance of the nursery and sat down, gazing out at the camp with curiosity.

There were quite a few cats in the camp, most probably having just woken as it was not long ago that the sun had lit the sky in a new dawn. With a yawn Tinykit stretched forward, laying down and crossing her paws as she watched her clanmates.

Blossomheart opened one sleepy amber eye to see Tinykit standing by the entrance. Every other kit was still asleep. Carefully, she stood and padded over next to her kit. "I always thought the dawn was the prettiest in the forest." She spoke softly, so as to not wake the others.

~{Hazelkit}~

Hazelkit bounce out of the nursery, immediately dropping into a sloppy crouch and creeping along, targeting the familiar russet tail that lay slightly twitching on the ground. She got ready to pounce, but the tail moved and lifted up, and she looked up to see her father staring down at her with an amused look.

~{Russetpelt}~

Russetpelt sat purring faintly by his mate, watching his little ones play in the sunlight. Sunlight was rare in this time, but as new-leaf crept closer and closer, patches of sunlight were slowly starting to appear and the snow was starting to melt.
He heard very noisy rustling behind, and looked back to see little Hazelkit creeping up on his tail. Russetpelt chuckled and stood up. He hated it when his tail was pounced on, but he thought his daughter’s determination was much like him when he was a kit. ”I’m not sure my tail is the best choice of prey. You will learn to hunt when you are an apprentice. Maybe I or an apprentice or your mother could show you the proper Huntington crouch?”

Tinykit's ears perked as she heard the firmiliar sound of her mother's paws on the nursery floor. Looking up at Blossomheart Tinykit smiled and inched closer to her so that their flanks were touching. "I like how calm it is in the morning." As she spoke Tinykit looked back out at the clearing. She didn't really understand why she liked it so much but she did.

As a few warriors padded out of the warrior den, one being her father, the calming silence was broken by their chatting and Tinykit glared at them like they had caused her harm. Getting up with a huff she extremely small she-kit looking up at her mother, a bit of mischeif in her eyes. "Mamma can me and Hazelkit go wake up Birchkit and Acornkit? I wanna play." Tinykit looked over at her sister to see if she was interested in the idea or if she would prefer to learn the hunting pose from their father.

Blossomheart's throat rumbled in a purr as she watched Hazelkit hunt her mate's tail. She looked back at Tinykit. "I agree, a little peace is refreshing in the life of a warrior." Then she gave a playful look, just as mischevious- if not more- as her kit.. "Just as long as you scare them good and well." She kept her voice low.

Hazelkit perked up at the idea of startling her siblings. ”Come, Tinykit!” she mewed as she mischievously stalked into the nursery.

Birchkit blinked, his tiny pink mouth opening wide in a yawn. He began to stand and stretch his limbs before he heard his other sibling approaching. The small black-and-white kit hurriedly fell back into the nest and closed his green eyes, feigning sleep.

Tinykit giggled and nodded at her mother, padding silently behing Hazelkit. "Okay, I'll get Birchkit, you get Acornkit. Ready?" Tinykit waited a moment for some form of confirmaton from Hazelkit and when she got it she pounced.

Acornkit was sleeping in her nest, very tired. The brown tabby started walking while she was still asleep. She saw her mother, Blossomheart, in her dream and ran towards her. Suddenly, she bumped into one of her littermates, and she woke up. "Hey!" she mewed to her littermate.

Birchkit let out a fake gasp of surprise at the attack. "Oh! Oh no, I can't believe you would do this to me! My own sister...!" He cried out, writhing about on the ground.

~{Hazelkit}~

Hazelkit chuckled as she shoved her littermate off of their moss-bed. ”Hah! You are no match for me you weak little badger-breath!” Hazelkit playfully hissed at Acornkit, getting a little out of hand with her words.

~{Russetpelt}~

Russetpelt smiled as Tinykit playfully pounced on Birchkit, but it turned into a bit of a frown when Hazelkit pounced on Acornkit. ”Don’t say that Hazelkit! She is nowhere near weak!”

Blossomheart was about to intervene, but Russetpelt got to it first. "Your father's right, Hazelkit. We only call other clans weak badger-breaths, and then only during battles."

Tinykit giggled, playing along with Birchkit. "Yes! I have betrayed you! Now you shall meet your end! For emphisis Tinykit hopped on top of Birchkit twice before stopping at her father's scolding of Hazelkit.

Acornkit watched Birchkit, seeing that it looked like Birchkit was joking - somehow. "In my dream, I saw Blossomheart, and I was running towards her, and then I woke up and you were in front of me!" she mewed.

Birchkit laughed, rolling his eyes good-naturedly. "Psssh, sure! You guys are just looking for a reason to kill me off cause you're jealous!" Birchkit crowed, snuggling up into the belly fur of Blossomheart. "I'm the favorite~!" He sang teasingly.
