Forest after forest

Forestkit poked her head out of the nursery, looking around the clearing. It was past moon high in leafbare, so every cat was warm in their dens. Leaving her sleeping litter mates and mother, Forestkit ran into the clearing of camp, prepared to pounce on a feather, when she saw a mouse. "I'm gonna catch that mouse for the clan!" she thought to herself as she crept after the mouse. The mouse darted out of camp and Forestkit followed, running out into the forest......

Forestkit wasn't able to make it too far out away from camp before she felt teeth gently grip her scruff, and she was lifted up into the air and placed back down gently so she was facing the cat who had picked her up. The battle-scarred sandy pale she-cat looked down at her in amusement, though she still had an air of sternness about her.

"And just where do you think you're going, little one?" Dawnpetal meowed. "It's far too dangerous for a kit to wander outside of camp, especially in leaf-bare in the dark."

Smokekit sighed as he left the nursery. He didn't know anyone in camp besides his mother ivyshade and he really didn't care. Smokekit noticed a kit he had never seen with a warrior his mom talked little of. He watched as the kit ran out of the camp then brought back by the warrior. He knew it was against the rules to leave camp and wondered what crazy kit would do that. The black and grey tom yawned then layed down by a rock watching what would happen next.

" Sorry Dawnpetal. I just wanted to catch that mouse. I know its leafbare and there isn't much prey around. " Forestkit said. " I won't do it again."

Dawnpetal purred her understanding. "You're going to make a great warrior someday, little one, but let's leave hunting to the warriors and apprentices. Once you're old enough to become an apprentice, then you can begin contributing for the Clan. For the time being, the best way you can contribute is to stay healthy and safe so that you can succeed in serving the Clan." She bent down and licked the kit's forehead. "What are you doing up so late anyway? You should be asleep. Come to think of it, so should you," she added, lifting her head up to the rock where Smokekit laid by, having scented him ever since she returned Forestkit back to camp.

He looked up as the warrior looked at him. "well you don't need to know why I'm awake." he said and stood up trying to act tough.

" I was bored," said forestkit, " I want to explore." Then she faced smokekit and said, " do you wanna play?"

Dawnpetal blinked kindly at him. He seemed to be tough, but not necessarily rude. She respected that of him. At Forestkit's question to Smokekit, she smiled. "All three of us can play a game since neither of you two seem to be wide awake. It's always a good idea to bond with your Clanmates." She laid down by the camp entrance, away from any of the dens where cats were sleeping, and gestured with her tail for the two kits to approach her.

"What game will it be?" Asked Forestkit, walking up to dawnpetal "I don't know many." She sat down and started to bat at the feather once more.

Smokekit ignored forestkit but walked towards dawnpetal when she said to. "do you know my adopted mother ivyshade?" he asked her forgetting forest kit was there.


OOC: lol he is supposed to be a mysterious kit but I'm sucking at trying to do that lol

Not waiting for a reply, Forestkit pounced playfully on smokekit.

" Have some fun!" said Forestkit

"Why don't we play truth or dare?" the warrior suggested to Forestkit. Looking over at Smokekit at his question, she smiled. "As a matter of fact, Ivyshade and I are adopted sisters. So I suppose that makes me your adopted aunt." She purred in amusement as the she-kit pounced on the tom kit.

(OOC: Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be easier to develop his mysterious nature when he becomes an apprentice or warrior. :3)

Smoke kit hissed and threw her off of him. He hid in the Warriors fur.
