Violetpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Moons ago now, Leopardclaw and his beloved mate Lichenfang had adopted three orphaned she-cats; Heatherpetal, a rogue kit who had wandered into the territory, Flowerpaw, who sadly had been killed by the effects of leaf-bare, and Violetpaw, who was finally going to receive the honor of a warrior name.  Standing tall atop the Highrock, the golden spotted deputy called out proudly; "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Highrock for a clan meeting!"

At Leopardclaw's call, Violetpaw hurried out of the apprentice den to where her Clanmates were gathering beneath the Highrock. She wondered briefly if this was finally her warrior ceremony, but without giving it much thought, she sat down to listen to what he had to say.

Standing tall, Leopardclaw called out proudly; "Today, another one of our apprentices is to cross over into the life of a warrior. Violetpaw, step forward!"

Violetpaw stepped forward lightly, trying to hide her excitement with a serious expression. She gazed up at her adoptive father, thrilled that she was finally ready to become a warrior.

Dawnpetal watched with happiness from the nursery, wrapping her tail around her sleeping kit Ravenkit, watching as yet another of her adopted siblings became a warrior at long last.

With a smile, he began the ceremony;  "I, Leopardclaw, deputy of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice.  She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn.  Violetpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Violetpaw looked up into Leopardclaw's eyes and took a deep breath. "I do," she said firmly.

With an approving nod, Leopardclaw took a deep breath and stood tall.  “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Violetpaw, from this moment you will be known as Violetfall. StarClan honors your loyalty and kindness, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan”  Leaping down from his perch, the deputy rested his chin on top of his adopted daughter's head, completing the ceremony.
