Jaypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt briskly onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Jaypaw moved intently to gather beneath Tallrock. He sat and waited to see what Ashstar had to say.

Ashstar looked down at the apprentice. Brindlewhisker had told her he was ready, and she agreed. It was time for his promotion- and WindClan needed new warriors. "We gather here today to make one of our apprentices a warrior. Jaypaw, please step forwards." Once the tom did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Jaypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Jaypaw looked surprised, but moved forward towards his leader. "I do".

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Jaypaw, from this moment you will be known as Jayflight. StarClan honors your skill and intelligence, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head, finishing the ceremony with a respectful smile. The more warriors before the probably impending battle, the better.
