a random short story?
Hazelpaw bounded out of camp, looking for some peace and quiet. She hoped that she could find somewhere secluded to sit and think.
Violetpaw spotted Hazelpaw dissapearing through the camp entrance, so she raced after her. She chased the small apprentice a short ways into the woods before she caught up with her. "What are you doing, Hazelpaw?" she asked. "Why are you out here alone?"
Hazelpaw frowned. "Will you just go away?" she mumbled shyly. "All I want is some peace and quiet." Violetpaw was loud and bubbly and annoying. The last thing the apprentice wanted was for Violetpaw to follow her around all day. "Please?"
"I think I know what you need," Violetpaw said slowly. A grin spread across her face as an idea began forming in her head. As she spoke, she began flicking her tail tip. A moment later, she started dragging her paw across the ground in sync with her tail. "Come on!" she coaxed the shy apprentice.
Hazelpaw gaped at Violetpaw, all shyness forgotten. "What in StarClan's name are you doing?" she asked. It was then that she realized that her back paw was tapping to Violetpaw's rhythm. "What... no! Stop!" she cried, sitting down abruptly, but this only encouraged Violetpaw, who started swaying along with her tail and paw. Hazelpaw's tail started swishing back and forth, but this time the brown tabby apprentice didn't try to stop it. "Hmph! I can do it better than you can, anyway," she snapped. She stood up, tail still swishing, and copied Violetpaw's swaying.
Violetpaw danced in a circle, turning all the way around before stopping to face Hazelpaw. "Beat that!" she challenged the smaller apprentice. Hazelpaw proceeded to drop into a hunting crouch, but instead of stalking, she wagged her haunches in the air.
After a few moments of this, Hazelpaw stopped short and looked at Violetpaw. "What am I doing?" she wailed, glaring at Violetpaw and dashing off in the other direction. Violetpaw shrugged and padded slowly after Hazelpaw.
