Stormpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Stormpaw poked his head out of the apprentice den at the call. Another ceremony, huh? He couldn't help hoping that it would be his, since his time to be a warrior was way overdue. He walked over and sat down, gazing at Ashstar with interest.

Ashstar looked down at the apprentice. Nectarleap had told her he was ready, and she agreed. It was past time for his promotion- and WindClan needed new warriors. "We gather here today to make one of our apprentices a warrior. Stormpaw, please step forwards." Once the tom did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Stormpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Stormpaw smiled. It was his time. He stepped forwards, trying not to betray his excitement at his promotion. "I do." He replied firmly.

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Stormpaw, from this moment you will be known as Stormcloud. StarClan honors your determination and loyalty, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head, finishing the ceremony with a smile.

"Stormcloud! Stormcloud!" Nectarleap chanted with his pride. Never before had he had the chance to experience his own apprentice become a warrior, and emotion was creeping into his voice. Stormcloud had worked very hard for this moment, and he was glad that it had finally happened. He was unsure whether to congratulate him publicly or not, but decided positive. Bounding over, he smiled with pride at the new warrior. "Congrats!"
