Shelter [Open]

Cedarstorm curled her tail around her kittens tightly as she slowly opened her tired blue-green eyes. She looked at the three kits, lovingly as tears seemed to drop from her eyes remembering her first litter. Even though those memories made her sad, she couldn't stop thinking about them but that didn't make her weaker or heartbroken. She would always remember her four sons dearly and the idea of them giving the strength to move on motivated her. Daykit, Viperkit and Spiderkit... they were her second chance to make things better.

"Wake up, sleepy heads." She purred nuzzling the black fur of Spiderkit. They were all big enough to leave the nursery for the first time and meet their clan and clanmates. However, the she-cat preferred to wait for Crowfur before leaving.

Daykit's flank rose and fell as she slept, but consciousness began to fill up her mind as a soft voice spoke. She squirmed in her sleep, her eyes were tightly shut and her face twisting up in displeasure. Contrary than her name would suggest, sleep was amazing to her. But, as the voice got clearer and she was able to make out the words being said, her grip on the dark haze of slumber had melted away into a warm golden light. Slowly and carefully, she blinked open her eyes. Hues of blues mingled with the forming of her true eye color, a hazel green of sorts. A small yawn came in the form of a high-pitched mew as she stretched out her tiny fluffy limbs, her fur bristled as she began waking her muscles up. She glanced at her mother and then to her brother, Spiderkit. A feeling welled up in her mind as she saw her mother giving spiderkit attention, and Daykit did not like the feeling. Why didn't her mother nuzzle her? Daykit puffed her cheeks as she mumbled angrily "I want nuzzles too... hmph." Daykit loved her mother greatly and thought she was the most important cat in the world, and she just wanted some attention.

Spiderkit had been lost in a particularly fun dream about chasing his sisters around the nursery when his mother's voice roused him. He was not happy to wake up. "But mooom!" He grumbled, rolling onto his back and flailing his little white paws at her. "I don't wanna get up!" his eyes only then opened, just beginning to show the frosted gold peaking through the pale blue. His black and white pelt was rumpled and sticking up in funny ways from rolling around in his sleep. In all his wiggling, he ended up rolling onto Daykit unintentionally and pawing her dead in the face.

Crowfur came into the nursery with a fat mouse in his jaws for his beloved. The large tom let out a deep rumbling purr from his throat while he observed his kits. The tom placed the mouse down in front of Cedarstorm and gave her an affectionate nuzzle. He then placed a large paw on Spiderkit's belly and gently rolled the tom to him. The warrior then reached for Daykit and Viperkit and rolled them to him. He looked down upon his three kits with a joyful expression. He lied down to where his chin touched the ground and he was looking at his kits close up. "Are you sure you don't want to go outside? You wish to be stuck in the nursery forever?" Crowfur asked teasingly.

Spiderkit blinked, startled for a moment by being rolled over. As soon as he regained his sense of balance however he pounced forward onto his father's nose, suddenly full of energy "Outside? We get to meet people? Today? Like, now?" He asked each question in quick succession, tail waving in excitement. "Can we? Can we? Can we?" The black and white kit was pawing at his father's face, practically vibrating he was so hyper.

Viperkit's darkish flank rose and fell as she slept peacefully. The she kit enjoying her dreams until she felt a paw move her after she heard a voice. She snapped her eyes open jumping to her paws in surprise"hey!"She squeaked blue green eyes showed just slightly through her light blue eyes. Her eyes would be just like her mother's. She then blinked relaxing"I know I don't want to be stuck here I want to be like a leader"She squeaked puffing up her chest as the small she kit lifted her head high.

Cedarstorm chuckled happily when Daykit requested more love. She approached her muzzle to her and nuzzle the small kit lovingly before licking her forehead. "Here I am, Daykit." She purred, curling her tail around the three kits.

Her blue-green fixed on her mate when the black-furred tom entered the den. A happy and tired smile appeared on her muzzle when she met his eyes and purred when he nuzzled her. "Thank you, my love." She mewed when she had that tasty mouse in front of her. She dipped her head toward the prey, letting Crowfur handle the kits while she ate. Being a queen was exhausting but truly worthy. Seeing such lively kits that she could call as her own was the best feeling in the world for the fluffy she-cat. Swallowing the last piece of the mouse, Cedarstorm looked at the kits playing with their father. "Yes, Spiderkit, we're going to leave the den for the first time and see the camp together as a family. You can't be a leader if you don't know your own camp." She mewed glancing at Viperkit.

Viperkit blinked and puffed her cheeks out in some annoyance"So I'll learn the camp easy"she squeaked

Scorchfang waited patiently outside of the nursery. He heard that his older brother's kits finally arrived, and he was very eager to meet his nieces and nephew. He didn't want to just storm in and crowd the place, though, so instead he sat in the snow with his long bushy tail draped around his paws. It wouldn't be long now before the three kits met their eager uncle.

Crowfur let out another deep purr from his chest before getting up on his paws. He looked over at his mate and grinned at her before signaling to his kits that it was time to go out. "What are we waiting for? Let's go out then!" he said while going out of the nursery. As he walked out side, the tom spotted his younger brother. "Scorchfang! My kits are coming outside right now so you'll be able to meet them." he said while sitting next to him as he waited for his three kits to make an appearance.

Spiderkit tumbled out first in a full sprint, tripping over his own paws and rolling head over heels until he bumped into Scorchfang's leg. "Cold! Ack! Monster!" He squeaked, scrambling back for a moment and then sitting by his father's foot. The black and white kit stared openly at Scorchfang, studying him from head to toe. "Who're you? You smell like papa." He asked, however it wasn't long before he wasn't paying attention again as his eyes drifted over the camp. And it was even less time before he was wandering off, pouncing in the snow and trying to eat it. "WOAAAAAAAAAAH THIS IS SO COOL."
