Scorchpaw's Moonstone Journey

Scorchpaw gave the warrior a deadpan stare when she winked at him. With ears flattened slightly against his head, he took in Fawnsong's explanation. Her words had some sense in them, but he wasn't going to just nod his head and agree. No, he was way too stubborn for that. He still had questions to ask. "Is StarClan really united? When you were alive, each of you belonged to a different clan. Can all these cats of different clans really become one united clan just because they died? When conflict occurs between clans, surely there are going to be biases among the Starclan cats. Each cat thinks differently and has his own opinion; how can we trust StarClan to lead us when there are such divisions?" Although Scorchpaw knew that he was challenging StarClan itself, the brown tabby did not really care. He was aware that to some the very idea was outrageous, but he simply wanted to know if StarClan was worth following. He did not want to blindly trust a group of cats in the sky just because that was what everyone else did. So far, Fawnsong seemed to be pretty tolerating towards him.

Fawnsong narrowed hey eyes. This apprentice surely had some good questions. "It's interesting. Lots of us are from different clans, but we dont have boundaries in StarClan. StarClan is all one clan. There is no StarClan that only RiverClan cats go to, there is no StarClan that only ThunderClan cats go to, we are all clanmates in the end. And its true that if two cats had a big conflict between each while they are alive, they might not immediately talk to each other like they are best friends in StarClan. But like I said before, if we ave a grudge against another cat forever, we will never get far. And yes, cats from the same clan do tend to hang around with one another rather than with cats from other clans here, but when huge choices must be made, or when times are tough, we all come together, its like the truce at gatherings except it never ends."
Fawnsong wasn't sure wether that was the answer Scrorchpaw wanted, but that was the answer he was getting.
What ever it was, Fawnsong would give the apprentice answers he wouldn't forget or completely ignore.
"Now, do you understand?"

Scorchpaw stared at Fawnsong with slitted pupils, carefully pondering over what she had said in his head. There were openings in her arguments, but the brown tabby began to feel that continuing to speak to Fawnsong would be pointless. Her answers did not satisfy him, and whatever he said she would have an answer for him. If he died and went to StarClan as well, would he be able to understand then? If he died and went to starClan, would he think the same way Fawnsong did? One thing was for certain; the way he was now, he definitely would not enjoy having to be together with other clan cats for an infinite period of time. Ah, well. While he still did not feel completely convinced, it seemed that talking to Fawnsong had not been completely without meaning. He would not forget what he had heard and seen today. He sighed inwardly. "Well, I understand what you are saying at least." He mewed to Fawnsong. "Thanks for having listened to my questions." The starry meadow surrounding him faded, and Scorchpaw found himself back in the cavern, the Moonstone looming before him. He blinked once to make sure that StarClan was really gone; Fawnsong was nowhere to be seen. Stretching as he got to his paws, he turned to search for Jaystream. "Let's go back."
