Hope From a Fallen Leader (Revamp)

Bluestar knew that everyone thought it would be best if she stayed in camp. But in the hubbub of moving everyone, it had been all to easy to sneak out. And besides, she was their leader, she ordered the around, not visa versa. She wasn't as sick as everyone thought that she was, and they only thought that because she was at war with StarClan. Those seemingly all-powerful cats seemed to be doing the exact opposite of helping, so she was the smartest cat in the clan for realizing that! Though the reason she had snuck out wasn't anything like that. There were only two cats she still trusted, Whitestorm and Fireheart, and one of them was in a mortal danger it would be a horrible crime to not go and save him. The leader where they were leading the dogs, waiting to see the familiar orange pelt of her deputy. Hopefully everything would go smoothly and she wouldn't have to step in. But she was ready. Nothing would hurt her clan's future leader. If needed, she would make sure of it.

Fireheart was sick of ThunderaClan living in fear. He hadn't thought of a solid plan to rid their territory of dogs by himself. He didn't realize how large they all were. When he had found the dogs again, he knew he wouldn't defeat them. He could however, lead them out of the territory. With a yowl, he caught the attention of the pack. "Oh, StarClan..." He hesitated for a moment before turning tail and running toward the Gorge. His chest burned as he ran, breathing harshly. Fireheart could smell the river water, the mist cooled the wind. He was almost there!

Tigerstar was watching from the shadows, seeing Fireheart try to lead the dogs to the gorge.  Oh, no you don't! he thought as he pounced at Fireheart while the flame-colored tom was running. "Going somewhere, Fireheart?" he snarled at the tom.

BUMP

The dog pursued the cats, his pack members following. His jaws watered as his eyes went from cat to cat. The thought of slowing down when a feast for his pack is right in front of them didn't even spark in the dogs' straight forward mind. A new cat, a huge brown one, tackled down the ginger cat. Right when they spotted the tussling cats, they took the opportunity. The other dogs went side by side with him, and they all chased after the cats.

Bump; I will not let this fall into inactivity!

Fireheart hissed. "Tigerstar!" He looked around, struggling under the leader. His blood ran cold when the dogs charged at them. "Are you trying to die? Let go of me or we'll both be eaten!" He spat and clawed at the scarred tom's face.

When Tigerstar saw the dogs get closer, he bounded off of Fireheart and into a nearby tree.  "Goodbye, Fireheart!" Tigerstar yowled at the ginger tom.

The dog howled when the brown cat ran away. He started running farther now. His packmates almost fell behind. He took a leap when he was close to the orange cat, the other dogs closing in from the left and right.

No. Fireheart could not be killed, he had come to far. He was the one who was going to become leader and save ThunderClan. But none of that would happen if a dog ate him. StarClan had proved to not care about any cat's fate, so she couldn't count on them. Bluestar knew that she would have to save him herself. When becoming leader, she promised that she would willingly sacrifice herself for her clan. Now she had to make good on that promise. Leaping from her hiding place, the blue-gray she-cat hurtled herself towards the orange deputy. If he died, the whole clan did. But that didn't matter, seeing as they were all traitors anyway. Her real motivation was saving the one cat left that she could trust. Of course, there was Whitestorm, but he wasn't in mortal danger. So  without hesitation, she zoomed right into the lead dog's flank.
"Not him!" Her head knocked right where she wanted and they both went flying. The strength she possessed in those moments didn't seem natural. The edge of the gorge was right below them. Falling to the ground, she caught right onto the edge. In a few moments, she might fall to her death. Her last death. Eight lives were gone, and now she was sacrificing the only one that she had left. For Fireheart.

Fireheart was about to chase Tigerstar down when he heard Bluestar. With terror-filled eyes he saw her bowl into the dog. And cling to the cliff. Running over, he hesitated, hearing dirt crumble off the cursed ledge. He had to be careful. With light steps, he began to approach his leader. "Don't worry, I'll get to you, okay, Bluestar? I just have to be careful!" It was torture, creeping along as the sound of hounds and their sickly scent surrounded him. Tigerstar watching cowardly in a tree and his leader, his mentor... his friend, clung for dear life after crumbling away from her glory already.
