Rose Water (Closed)

A large-ish kit leaped and shuffled her way into Skyclan territory, her poofy white fur blending the small she-kit with the snow. She didn't really know why she was here, except for the fact she was out of camp and away from the depressive tones of her clan. She didn't truly understand what had happened, sure she knew her sister was dead but she didn't understand what death was either. Soon, the snow clumped kit stumbled upon a creek, one that seemed to hold stars in it. It was so beautiful! Bounding forwards, Rosekit looked down at the water, utterly mistified.

The newly appointed warrior was proud of his new name: Pantherblaze, it was a powerful one. A name that suited his fiery, passionate and ambitious personality. Now that he was a warrior, he was free from stupid apprentice's duties and the struggle of always being accompanied by a warrior every time he left the camp.

Pantherblaze enjoyed this time alone as he walked to the Moonlit Creek until he glanced a mysterious kit over there. She wasn't from Skyclan. Was she a kittypet? This could be his chance to get what he wanted! He thought delightedly as he walked to the kit with a friendly smile.

"Oh, hello there, little one. What are you doing so far from home?" He purred, placing himself behind the white-furred kitten.

Rosekit perked up when she noticed a warrior approaching her, blue-green eyes widening she looked at him in awe. "Uhm. I'm uh- adventuring! Yeah!" She chirped, tail kicking up snow as she looked back down at the water, a fat white paw with pink pads slapping against the water as she turned her attention away from the Skyclan cat.

The tom looked at the she-kit with interest. She was young and naive. Not even scared of being so far from whenever she came from. Using his fake friendly attitude, the tom sat down next to her and glanced at Rosekit from the reflection of the water. ”Oh, so you’re an adventurer. You are quite brave to come to this place without your family. Where’s your mother? Your siblings?” Until now, everything was going perfect. If he could somehow manage to convince her of coming with him, he would be able to raise her as an unofficial apprentice out of the clans and use her to kill Batfang. In that way, he wouldn’t be considered a murderer and he would blame this kit for everything.

"Ma and Da are back at camp I think, same with my siblings, why?" Rosekit sputtered, turning back to look at Pantherblaze. "Ma doesn't like it when I talk to strangers." She sputtered, bashfully dipping her head. Shuddering the she-cat fluffed out her snow-white fur against the cold. "This was fun but I should go home or ma and da will miss me." She puffed, stumbling to her paws. "We should uh... we should play sometime!" She sputtered, jumping and presuming to disappear in the snow.

The tom friendly expression dissapeared for a second when the she-cat started walking away from him but he tried to keep his temper a bit longer. ”Why would you leave so soon?” He mewed jumping right in front of her so she wouldn’t move again. ”We just met and there’s a lot of places you could explore if you just stay here with me. I can show a lot of interesting places and even teach you a bit about hunting. Won’t you like that?” He purred as he walked around her and keeping a persuasive tone in his voice. He couldn’t let her go. This kit was perfect for his goals...

OOC: Pantherblaze probably will attack in the next post if Rosekit makes him lose his short patience ;)

"M-Maybe I can come back tomorrow! I won't tell no-body!" Rosekit was starting to feel scared, or just plain ol' unsafe. This much bigger, older tom trying to convince her to stay with him. She wasn't the sharpest stone but she knew a predator when she saw one, her ma always told her to be careful around these kinds of cats. "I'mma actually kinda... kinda cold." She sputtered, sure her paw pads were but her thick, long white coat was keeping her warm. Rosekit's tail tucked and her eyes widened as she looked up at Pantherblaze, as if almost begging for his mercy, defenseless as she was.

As the kit kept refusing, the tom started to get irritated. His persuasive expression changed to a more serious one until he realized something. If she was going to come back... there was a risk of she going to tell everyone about him and how he acted. He already knew she was scared. Pantherblaze wasn’t dumb.

When the kit said she was cold, he knew what he had to do. He couldn’t risk everything for a kit like this. He had to take revenge. ”Oh, are you cold? Let me help you with that.” Swift as the wind, the Skyclanner grabbed the kit by the neck harshly and he tossed her away to the Moonlit Creek. His green eyes watched how she started to drown, hoping she would and die dissapear soon.

But the sudden smell of a clanmate alerted him. Quickly, he jumped into the water and swam clumsily to the kit, pretending to be saving her. He couldn’t let other see that he attempted to murder a cat. They would kill him for that? And if he was dead, Batfang would never get his punishment.

Mumblefoot was diving through the trees after a hunting patrol. The only time the black and white warrior was out around the territory was when he was high in the tree. Life outside of the camp's walls was tolerable that way. Not only was he a skilled climber, but the height made him feel safe, unlike it would a non-Skyclan cat. Predators and other dangers lurked on the group. But, here, he was in his element.

He was not really focused on heading in a specific direction and mostly just enjoying the feeling of the breeze. Although, he finally noticed that he was near the moonlit creek. The warrior wondered if it was still frozen. It probably wasn't. A distant splash caused his ear to twitch. That answered his question. What was still a mystery, however, was the splashing noise. His little paws carried him swiftly towards the direction of the sound.

As he got closer, his orange-brown eyes landed on Pantherblaze. Something about his clanmate had always put him off, but now, he saw something he never quite imagined. The black tom was in the water... swimming? Even stranger was the fact he looked to have dove in after the kit that was barely struggling to keep her head above water. Reminded of Drizzlepaw, the tom panicked and scrambled down the tree. Pantherblaze was big enough to handle this. Mumblefoot stood just on the edge of the creek and called, "Are you okay?"

Rosekits shriek died in her throat as jaws wrapped around her fluffy neck, she could feel her throat tear as she was thrown into the water. Her fur, once able to protect her from the cold, now clogged and seemed to drag her downstream. Panic engulfed the she-kit, her blue-green eyes wide with fear as she was quick to accept her fate. But by some miracle, though the little kit could hardly call it that, she was ripped from the depths by the very same tom that threw him in.

Did he wish to prolong her misery? To rip her to shreds? How cruel was he? Rosekit wanted to scream, to spit in the face of her attacker turned savior, but nothing could come out. So she thrashed, thrashed until he took her to shore. Anything she could do to put up a fight, let them know that she wouldn't die easy.

As he expected, one of his clanmates soon appeared and Pantherblaze approached with a worried expression on his face. He put Rosekit down between his paws, making sure she wouldn’t run away but he doubted it. She hadn’t been able to say even a word so she was probably too weak for even talk. Perfect.

”Mumblefoot! I was walking near the Moonlit Creek when I heard the struggles of a cat... and then I saw this kit drowning. I couldn’t stay still and do nothing so I jumped and barely managed to swim to her. She is freezing. We must bring her back to camp!” He mewed with concerned but also serious eyes. If he wanted to make Mumblefoot believe him, he had to pretend he was truly concerned about the kit’s life.

The large tortie tom grabbed once again the white she-cat and looked at the other tom, as he was saying they should go now. He didn’t wait and he started to rush to te camp. If the she-cat started to walk of what happened... he would make sure to kill her...

Concern shone in his eyes as he looked down at the kit. Her throat seemed to be injured, and given how soaked she was, there was likely chance for a deep chill as well. Immediately he nodded and was prepared to ask Pantherblaze if he would be able to manage the kit the whole way back to camp. But, the black tom was off before he could say a word. Who was this kit? And why was she in the stream with a damaged throat? For a moment, all of this ran through his mind. Mumblefoot shook his head as he hauled himself swiftly up the nearest tree and began bounding back to the camp. Regardless of the answers to all of the many questions, he just hoped that the little kit would be okay with Mintpaw's assistance.
