Out and about [Open]

The air was still crisp as Pinekit poked his nose out, then his whole head, eyes narrowed in suspicion. The camp itself was quiet, peaceful even, with only the sound of distant water breaking up the silence. The sky was a mixture of blue and orange, as the sun peeked itself over the horizon. He sniffed. Looks like mom was just being paranoid, he thought, before stepping out into the open air.

Jeez, it was cold. Pinekit shivered but resolved to walked onwards, taking in the sights around him. For a second, he actually felt like he was enjoying himself - just him and his newfound freedom. Then, a leaf innocently blew onto his nose and he sneezed, scrambling back in a panic. "Who's there?! I'm dangerou-- oh. Oh, it's just a stupid leaf, damn it." Now he just felt stupid. As a response, he swiped at the leaf with a growl, before catching it with his paws and ripping it apart in frustration. What a great start to the day.

Heronpaw saw a young kit swiping at a leaf outside of the nursery. The apprentice padded towards the kit, who seemed frustrated. "Hello! What's your name?" he said, trying to make him smile.

Pinekit sneezed again before he noticed a cat approaching him. That's just great. He fluffed himself out, ready to tell this cat that he wasn't doing anything bad or something like that, when the question reached his ears. Wait, what? Pinekit narrowed his eyes. "I'm Pinekit. Who are you? You're not gonna tell my Mom I'm out here, are you?"

"I'm Heronpaw, and I won't tell your mom that you're out here. I promise." He sat with the young tom. "Do you want to play a game?" he asked, his green eyes warm and comforting.

Well, this 'Heronpaw' did sound trustworthy. Pinekit didn't make any move to run away as the apprentice sat down next to him, but he still scrunched up his face at the suggestion of a game. "Uh--That sounds fun, but it better not be a dumb game! Like, guess the plant or something."
