Bright eyes ablaze with a worrisome mixture of excitement and anticipation gleamed from the weak shade of the nursery, eagerly darting after the various cats who drifted back and forth through the camp as they attended to their duties. Making no move to brush away the scraps of moss and feathers that clung to her wild fur, Adderkit remained poorly hidden beside the reeds that formed the protective entrance to the nursery, obviously plotting something mischievous. After a painfully long moment of trying to make herself appear inconspicuous, the fluffy she-kit hurriedly made a break from the cozy yet completely suffocating den, clearing heading towards the camp's entrance in a clumsy excuse of a mad dash.

Lilytail had just come back from a quick solo hunting assignment. Her blue eyes looking straight ahead as she briskly walked to the camp. The young warrior was lost in thought when she bumped straight into...someone? She was startled as she looked down. She had bumped right into the troublemaking Adderkit. She dropped the prey she was carrying in attempt to speak. "A-Adderkit! Are you alright? Where were you off to in such a hurry?" she asked while crouching down.

Scorchpaw crunched up the last bits of the mouse that had been his breakfast, and swiped a paw across his face to rid his whiskers of any stray bits of flesh that clung to them. It seemed that today he would be on his own. Perhaps he would go out and hunt some prey. His gaze strayed towards the nursery, and as it did, he caught sight of something. A ball of fur zipped from the nursery entrance and headed clumsily towards the camp's entrance. Wait, what? It took the tabby apprentice half a second to comprehend what he was seeing. He leaped to his paws, long legs carrying him quickly over the ground. Just before he could reach the kitten however, Lilytail walked right into it, effectively stopping the kitten's escape. He slowed to a walk, inwardly giving a sigh of relief. "If you're trying to escape, Adderkit, you'll have to be faster than that." He mewed sarcastically, addressing the kitten as he came up to them. "And cleaning out your pelt first might help make you more inconspicuous. You're such a mess."

Just whenever it seemed like her escape was within reach, Adderkit managed to run head first into the chest and forelegs of a Warrior- perhaps trying to glance at every cat in clearing while running wasn't the best strategy. Stumbling back a step, the dusky grey kit paused for a moment, her ears twitching as she listened to the cat before her speak. Instead of immediately responding, the young she-kit instead opted to rest her chin on the soft fur of Lilytail's chest as she gazed up at the Warrior with deceptively innocent eyes, a sweet trilling noise escaping her mouth as she continued to bat her large eyes at the white she-cat. "Oh hi Lilytail!" She squeaked, her whiskers fluttering as she continued to remained snuggled against the pale cat in a hopeful attempt to appear meek and unassuming. "I was just playing a game!" She promised as earnestly as she could, hoping to avoid getting scolded for her less than subtle attempt at catching an actual glimpse of freedom.

However, at another approach, Adderkit twisted around to gaze at Scorchpaw with a hint of interest evident in her soft features. Keeping her cheek pressed against Lilytail's sternum, the young she-kit felt the beginnings of a pout weigh down across her face as a heated flush of slight embarrassment crawled beneath her fur. Her mother never spoke to her like that! "I was plenty fast enough!" She insisted, her ears falling flat against her skull as she gazed up at Scorchpaw with owl-like eyes as she continued, "You couldn't even keep up!" Her fluffy, plume-like tail gave an agitated twitch as she processed the older tom's words before wrapping tightly around her form. "And my fur looks fine. Great, even!" Adderkit hurriedly insisted after a moment's reprieve.

Scorchpaw snorted. "Yeah, right. A game, my foot." Pressed up against the other warrior, with large, innocent eyes, Adderkit was the very embodiment of cute. It would have been enough to fool almost any cat, but in this situation Scorchpaw was not deceived. He did not know if he could say the same about Lilytail, but he had seen Adderkit's mad dash for freedom. The kit's motives had been obvious from the beginning, so for her to now cover it up with her cute face was not going to work. He felt slightly offended when she stated that he had not been able to keep up. "If you had not walked into Lilytail, I would have caught you." He said dryly, ear twitching slightly in annoyance. At Adderkit's denial of the state of her fur, he raised his nonexistent eyebrows."Are those pieces of moss and feathers decoration then? You shouldn't leave camp until you've become an apprentice. There are dangerous predators out there that would be happy to make a meal out of a little kit like you."

Wriggling up beneath Lilytail's belly and peering out from around the white Warrior's limbs, Adderkit still wore her expression of mock innocence, although now there was a curious glint evident within her light gaze. Cats rarely scolded or reprimanded her for any of her faulty actions or behaviors- perhaps due to the fact that she would immediately resort to threatening to drag in her favorite relative Ivystar in an attempt to get them to shut up. Resting her cheek against Lilytail's leg, the fluffy young she-cat stuck her tongue out in response to Scorchpaw's words, a slight pout downplaying her round features. "In fact yes, they are decorations. I'm tryin' out a new look for the Clans- do you like it?" She hummed, her whiskers twitching in an a mischievous sort as she cocked her head once more.

At Scorchpaw's mention of predators, Adderkit merely let out a short huff, her playful expression melted into one of a stubborn refusal. "They wouldn't. 'Cause I'm too fast 'n stuff." She refused, her mouth twisting as she held Scorchpaw's gaze, unwilling to see the truth in the older cats words.
