Echopaw's Assessment (closed)

Sitting near the camp entrance, Smokepelt sat in silence as the sun began to light up the dimly lit sky. Today, he'd take Echopaw on a patrol and assess the younger tom. Lifting a forepaw up to his muzzle, the tall, lean warrior began to daintily clean himself as he waited for the apprentice to wake up.

Echopaw slowly woke up and looked around. He got up and stretched a little. He saw his mentor and shook some sand/snow of himself then he walked up to his menotor and smiled slightly "Goodmorning Smokepelt, what are we doing today?" he asked and sat down infront of him.

Just as Echopaw arrived and sat down, the tall warrior stood up and gave his pelt a shake. "Today I'll be assessing what you know," he mewed in reply and turned towards the direction of the camp entrance. "Ready to go?"

"Yes I am" he meowed and stood up like Smokepelt."Are there any rules I need to keep in mind? I don't wanna do anything wrong" he then asked and looked at his mentor.

OOC: sorry for the wait ;;

IC: Padding out of the camp with Echopaw at his side, Smokepelt nodded his head at the younger cat's question. "Nope. Just do what you know and you should be fine," the tom mewed. After a few moments of walking, he stopped when they reached somewhere are the center of the moorlands and sat down. "Catch at least 2 pieces of prey. I'll be watching from a distance, but don't worry about me," he added and waited for Echopaw to get started.

OOC: It's fine

Ecopaw nodded and sniffed around quickly catching the scent of a rabbit. He quietly followed the scent. Once he saw the rabbit he got into a crouch and slowly stalked towards it. Once he where close enough he pounced on it.

He caught it without a problem and snapped it's neck swiftly. He dug a hole and buried the rabbit.

Waiting a few moments for Echopaw to get started, the warrior followed after him, keeping a good distance as to not distract the apprentice. Hidden in a clump of thick, dry brush, Smokepelt watched as Echopaw scented a rabbit and quickly caught it. So far, his apprentice was off to a great start.

After he had buried the rabbit he looked around and sniffed the air. When he couldn't smell anything he started walking quietly over the windy moors.
After awhile he caught sight of a lizard limping over the moors. Echopaw quickly ran after it and pounced on the small lizard.

The lizard had broken a leg which made it easy for Echopaw to catch it.

Following behind the apprentice once more, Smokepelt watched as he picked a crippled lizard to hunt. An easy catch, no doubt, but it was still good practice, so he'd let it slide.

Echopaw dug down the lizard and continued to stalk around. After awhile he finally spotted a mouse. He slowly creept towards it. He pounced on it.

The mouse noticed him in the last second and quickly ran away.

Continuing to follow the apprentice, Smokepelt watched as a mouse scurried away from him. 'They'll be other chances,' he thought to himself, staying silent where he was.

As he stalked away he heard a bird and looked around, there it was! Sitting on a tree stump. He slowly creept up behind the bird and waited a second before pouncing on the bird.

The bird, just like the mouse noticed him in the last second and flew of. "Stupid bird" he mumbled.
