Daykit's Apprentice Ceremony

Blizzardstar leaped onto the Highrock, war or not, injuries or not, ceremonies should still be a priority “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Daykit was up long before she heard Blizzardstar’s call. She knew what day it was; apprentice day. She had been waiting for this since... well, since birth. She darted out of the nursery and towards high rock when she heard her leaders voice. She sat down near the front, practically glowing with pride and excitement.

Once enough cats were gathered beneath the Highrock, the white leader finally decided to go on "Daykit, please, step forward”.

Daykit felt a shiver of excitement when she heard Blizzardstar speak her name. She did as she was told, standing swiftly and stepping closer. She tried to wait patiently, but her shining golden eyes gave away that underneath her calm facade was a lit about to burst. Her apprenticeship was so close she could taste it, and it tasted sweet.

Blizzardstar chuckled softly when the kit stumbled forwards, though she thought this was an accident caused by excitement instead of his paws “Daykit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Daypaw” She took a quick glance at the warriors gathered before picking one for the new apprentice “Your mentor will be Emberheart. I hope she passes down all she knows on to you” With that she jumped off the Highrock, dismissing the clan.

Daykit stared up in awe at her leader. She wanted that someday, to be as amazing as Blizzardstar. It was a big dream, and at that it was only a dream. But Daykit could only imagine how fun it must be to be leader! Correction; Daypaw. She felt a swell of pride hit her when she heard the words. Her tan tipped tail swept across the snowy ground in content, and she waited with something mimicking patience, to learn the identity of her mentor.

Blizzardstar said the name Emberheart, and Daypaw turned her head around to search for the female. She had heard the name before, and could connect it to the face of a red and black tortie. Daypaw waited eagerly for her new mentor to come greet her, her paws lightly kneading the ground.

After the red she-cat started to get over the slight shock of being chosen, Emberheart made her way forward to touch noses with her first apprentice as she had seen many do before her.
