Are the kits themselves the nightmare, or is something behind it?

Wolfkit leaped on the rabbit, missing it my a mouse-length. He was about to pursue but then the rabbit stopped and stood on its hind legs. Wolfkit paused as well in confusion. Then the rabbit turned back toward him, eyes gleaming and teeth sharp. It grew large, its fur matted. The rabbit gave a roar and Wolfkit was frozen in terror. It lunged at him but then the world spun and it was landing by Ashstar, who bravely swiped it, but her attempts were futile. The were-rabbit picked Ashstar up and swallowed her whole! Brindlewhisker, Frostfeather, Spiderfur, Wildheart, and Silentstrike leaped out of the warrior's den attacking the giant monster rabbit. "No!" He yelled as his clanmates were killed, eaten, or both. Soon, only he was left. He mustered the strength to run, quickly skimming the moors and trying to dash in between trees of Thunderclan. He tripped over a fallen log and could hear trees crashing behind him. Slowly he looked up, and saw the evil creature lurking over him, ready to pounce on him as if he were prey. It let out a deafening roar, then Wolfkit tried to scramble backward, but it was too late. The rabbit monster had won. He slid down its throat in shock that he was about to die, and fell into its stomach, which had... changed? He was now in a peaceful pond that was surrounded by misty moors, woods, and swamps. He relaxed. The warm water felt good after the run. He blinked and noticed a lump rising from the water. The rabbit monster was back, with claws now! He splashed as he tried to run, but it recognized him and slammed a huge paw on him. It flipped him over onto his back and reared his paw up, and threw it down toward him, and then he awoke panting.
