Unexpected But Welcomed [Open, Meddie Needed]

Moonlight had been caught off-guard. Not long ago she had been hunting, completing her usual warrior duries, when she started to notice some nausea and tiredness. Thinking it was just something she ate she went to the medicine cat den to get some herbs to get rid of the annoyance, and now here she was, on the well-known space of the nursery yet again. Unlike their other litters this wasn’t planned, if it wasn’t for her deciding to get something and ignore the discomfort instead they probably wouldn’t had even known that she was expecting kits again, but that didn’t made her pride and happiness any different from the past litters she had. Planned or not, these kits would be welcomed into their family with open paws. How many there were this time? It was two or just one? Well, at least she wasn’t going to be caught in the middle of her duties when the kits decided it was time to arrive.

As she was thinking about this she felt the first contractions, causing her whole fur to stand on end and her body to go tense “The kits are coming!” Her yowl was loud enough for the medicine cats to hear, so she expected to see any of them appear soon. Even if they didn’t she was kind of calm, she had done this enough times by now to know exactly what she was supposed to do. Yes, the herbs and the stick would be nice, but not something she would desperately need at this point.

Oceanlight heard Moonlights yowls. She grabbed some chervil and raspberry leaves from the little stocks she had and held them in her jaws with a stick, and borage leaves were pierced by her claws, holding it on her paw. She rushed to the nursery and set up the herbs. The chervil and raspberry leaves were in front of Moonlight. "Chew on the leaves. You can bite on the stick, but just chew on them. Eat the borage when the kits are born." she instructed. She stared at her, monitoring every  move to see if anything goes wrong.

Having been resting in warrior's den after a long morning patrol, the cry of his mate made the little tom's head shoot up from where it'd been resting on his paws. Jumping up from his nest, he raced as fast as his tiny legs could take him over to the nursery and skidded to a halt when he entered.

Rushing over to Moonlight's side, Tinylegs nuzzled his cheek against her's and looked to Oceanlight, a worried expression on his white and pale grey face. "is everything alright?" he asked the medicine cat, trying to hide his worry. While Moonlight was a healthy queen, kitting in Leafbare always had its risks and he silently prayed to StarClan that his mate and the kits would stay safe after today.

Moonlight smiled at Oceanlight and nodded at her instructions, not even hesitating before starting to chew on the leaves. She smiled at Tinylegs when she saw him enter in the nursery and rubbed her cheek against his with a soft purr, trying to ignore the pain from the contractions in an attempt to help his mate to relax. This wasn’t the first time she gave birth on Leafbare, and she was confident that this would go just as well. It was when she started to feel the really painful well-known contractions and the urges to push that she immediately grabbed the stick firmly between her jaws.

Doing the same thing she had done several times before she started to push, not even trying to count the born kits during the whole process as she knew perfectly well that each push wouldn’t always mean a kit, and Oceanlight would take care of doing so and check on her kits’ health. It wasn’t until she felt the pain fade and the urges to push vanish that she let go of the stick with a long relieved sigh, grabbing and eating the borage before turning around to look at her newborn kits.

After much strain, there was finally one more Skyclan kit in the world. Mewling softly, the tiny, snowy white newborn kit struggled to find a place where it would be warm. Before long, the unnamed kit found its way to his mother, beginning to knead for milk.

After the long Hours a new Skyclan kit was born. the newborn Silver She-kit let out a silent mew before crawling to her mother. Her pelt was was short and sleek yet was slightly ruffled. she crawled pass her siblings squirming bodies to reach her mother's milk. She calmed after eating and snuggled int her mother's soft, warm fur and fell asleep

Sitting beside his mate, Tinylegs hated seeing her in so much pain, but soon enough, it was over and two small, wet bundles laid against the she-cat's side. One was white and one silver, both beautiful she-kits. "You did great," he mewed softly, giving Moonlight a lick on the cheek as she breathed heavily. He was so blessed to have her as his mate and now more kits, and didn't know how to thank StarClan enough.

Oceanlight purred as she saw the two newborns. She brushed the wet pelts with a wad of dry moss until the kits were clean. She looked at the silver kit, then the pure white one. "Congratulations, Moonlight." she purred.

Shimmerpaw was going about her business, completely unaware of her mother's situation. It was only when she saw Oceanlight darting across the camp. She frowned and lifted her rear off of the ground. What was going on? It wasn't long until she began to hear squealing noises. Unsure, she padded slowly towards the nursery.

Upon her walking into the nursery, she discovered none other than her mother Moonlight; warming up a pair of newborn kits. She stumbled backwards. 'M-Moonlight!
You... you had kits! Congratulations!" she started the sentence with a stutter, but by the end was purring loudly. She had new siblings! The realisation hit her and only made her happier as she looked at the two tiny littermates.

The silver She-Kit let out a small squeak before rolling onto her back. her silver tabby fur was starting to fluff out and she looked more of a grey moss-ball rather then a tiny Newborn kitten.
