A daisy in the snow (open?)

Sitting at the edge of the nursery entrance, Daisykit stared out onto the camp with wide eyes. The sky was grey and a chilly breeze nipped at his paws, but the little white flakes falling down to earth distracted the kit from any of the real Leafbare dangers. So far, all the little tom's life had been was sitting around in the nursery occasionally playing with the younger kits, but this new discovery changed everything for him.

He very clearly remembered what Littlebrook had told him about leaving the den especially in this cold weather, but was he going to let that stop him? Nope. Not even looking back to see if his mother was watching, the handsome white and ginger pelted kit bounded out of the nursery and into the open camp, where very few cats sat, seeing that it wasn't the best conditions for a lazy day nap outside.

Puffing up his fur and sticking his tail straight in the air, he jumped around onto the lightly covered white ground, giggling from the tingle in his paws that the cold white substance gave him. Looking up, he watched as the flakes fell down towards him. Where in StarClans name were all the little drops of winter coming from? When one fell on his nose, sending a shiver down his spine, the kit let out a sneeze and gave his pelt a shake, just to discover that the white flakes liked to stick onto him. How odd.

Letting out a squeal of excitement, Daisykit jumped up and down, slamming his little white paws down into the layer of snow which sent the frosty flakes flying back up into the air all around him. He'd been told that Leafbare brought danger to kits and even older cats, but he ignored any of his mother's warnings and continued to romp around in the snow, leaving a tangled path of tiny paw prints throughout the camp. If this weather was supposedly "dangerous", then his mother must be a mousebrain, for it was more magical than anything he'd ever seen before.

Rosepaw woke from the dream she had. She got up and stretched then left the apprentice den. She saw a kit frolicking in the snow and smiled. She wanted to walk up to the kit and ask if she could play but she knew the kit probably wanted to be alone. She sighed and put her white paws in the snow. Her white paws blended perfectly except that the rest of her was mostly black. She decided to try to talk to the kit. "hello little kit I'm Rosepaw can I join you?" she asked when she reached the kit.

Scorchpaw had been woken up by the kit's antics as well, and he grumbled in irritation as he padded out of the warm apprentices' den, his thick black tabby fur bushing out against the cold. He narrowed his piercing orange eyes at the bouncing kit, then grunted and approached him. Once he reached him, he planted a dark paw on Daisykit's tail to pin him down. "Do you mind? Some of us are trying to sleep. When you become an apprentice, you'll be grateful for peace and quiet and the absence of annoying little kits."

Minnowpaw woke up as two of the other apprentices walked out of the den, she got up and walked two the entrance where she saw that Scorchpaw holding down the kit, she hissed quietly for herself Would that cat ever let the kits be kits? She though and ran over to them and with some effort pushed the large tom of the kit "Hes a kit Scorchpaw, so let him be one and stop acting like a grumpy old cat" she hissed at him. She knew he was alot bigger than her but she still wasnt afraid of him and had never been.

IC: Hearing someone approach from behind, Daisykit stopped playing and turned to see an apprentice. Rosepaw she said? That was a nice name, though he cockily reminded himself that no name was as great as his.

"Sure!" the white and ginger kit mewed with a big smile that practically covered his entire face, his tail lashing back and forth from the excitement. While he was pretty confident in himself and the fact that he was the son of Mudfoot, his father whom he believed to be the best warrior in ShadowClan and probably the entire forest, he always enjoyed some company, especially when it was with she-cats.

With his fluffy chest fur pridefully puffed out, he opened his jaw, about to say a smooth remark back to Rosepaw when something pressed down on his tail. Looking behind him, another apprentice, a cranky one, had put his paw down onto the kit's tail. What in StarClan's name... why was this cat so grumpy? Unknowing of Scorchpaw's motives, it struck him that the apprentice was taking advantage of him in holding his tail down and scolding him. He was merely having some fun for StarClan's sake. Well, seeing how the older tom acted told him that this cat probably didn't even know what fun was.

Looking over, another apprentice joined them, a she-cat. Watching as she hissed and attempted to push the tom off of him, anger boiling in his veins. No body, not even his clan-mates would take advantage of him like that, he would make sure of it. Pinning down his ears against his head and baring his teeth, the kit lashed his tail out from under the apprentice's paw and stepped away from Scorchpaw so that he stood between the two she-cats, locking eyes with the ill-tempered tom.

"Don't you ever put one of your grumpy paws on me again, got that?" he hissed, not letting his gaze move from Scorchpaw's. While he may have been younger than the apprentices that joined him, he wouldn't hesitate to teach them who was boss if need be.

Rosepaw was mad by the way scorchpaw acted but smiled when her friend came over and then the kit reacted. "he was playing scorchpaw so stop being grumpy and start being more fun." she said smiling. "minnowpaw nice to see you again." she said looking at her friend.

Scorchpaw blinked, and for a split second he almost looked surprised. Then his eyes narrowed tauntingly. "Aww, how cute. You think you can tell me what to do, little kit? Start acting more like a ShadowClan cat and less like a soft kittypet and maybe I'll treat you better, how's that?" Just to pester the little kit, he began gently pawing at Daisykit, bowling him over on his side a couple times. Of course, he never intended to hurt him, so he kept his claws sheathed. He completely ignored Minnowpaw's and Rosepaw's intrusions, just giving them both an annoyed glare.

"Hi Rosepaw" Minnowpaw replied and smiled at her friend for a second then she saw what Scorchpaw did to the Daisykit. She hissed and flew at Scorchpaw in full force knocking him down, then she stood over him putting both of her front paws on his chest doing her best to hold him down "Thats it Scorchpaw dont you ever touch that kit again or I will rip your fur of,
do you hear me? Ive had enough of you just being a stupid mouse-brained jerk" she hissed.

"Get off of me!" Scorchpaw spat furiously when Minnowpaw pinned him. He struggled before pressing his own paws on her chest and pushing hard. Rolling on his back, he pinned her down in the snow and began taking his claws into her exposed underbelly.

Scorchpaw used Belly Rake, dealing 7 damage and costing 10 stamina.

Minnowpaw hissed and quickly unsheated her claws and scratched him staight across the muzzle, as she tryd getting him of "Stop it you piece of fox-dung!" she yowled trying to get away

Foxkit noticed that the nursery was a bit chilly than usual. She rose from her cozy spot and paused. She saw the most beautiful sight. Some kind of white fluff from the sky was falling slowly. It landed on her nose and she shivered. It tingled onto her fur too. She slowly set each paw on the freezing but soft snow. Her paws started feeling numb, the best feeling ever. What is this wonderful coldness?

As she was outside the den, into the camp, she froze. There were three cats fighting each other. With unsheathed claws. There was another small cat in the middle of this fight... a kit? She saw a bit of blood painting the snow bright red.

She walked towards the groups of cats to see what was going on. "What's going on here? Foxkit growled anxiously.

Scorchpaw hissed furiously and shook the little specks of blood from his muzzle, glaring hatefully at Minnowpaw and completely disregarding Foxkit. "All you do is constantly nag me and get in my fur when I'm just trying to help these kits see that if they don't toughen up right from the start, they may end up soft and reluctant to fight! I'm trying to save their soft little pelts!"

Littlebrook had been relaxing in the nursery while Daisykit was out exploring and making friends, or so she assumed, when she heard the tell-tale signs of fighting, mixed with her son's assertive tone. Well at least he knows how to stick up for himself. She thought before rising to her paws to go deal with whatever it was that was going on. I can never get a moment to myself anymore, can I?

As she emerged from the den, her concerned gaze landed on Scorchpaw and Minnowpaw, who was bleeding from her underbelly. She noticed the trouble-making tom had a scratch along his face, and she sighed in exasperation before marching over to the two, her eyes a blaze of fury. "What in StarClan's name is going on!?" She meowed, eyeing the two apprentices sternly. It wasn't often she got very angry, but fighting amongst clanmates was not only against the code, it would not be tolerated or looked over by her.

Scorchpaw recoiled a little at the deputy's appearance, but then he straightened up and glared indignantly at her. "Minnowpaw started it! I was just trying to help the kits and she attacked me!"

"Help!? You sent him rolling half way through camp!" Minnowpaw hissed "And all those other times was that also help? Calling the kits annoying, stupid or to soft! They are kits for Starclan sake! she spat at him. "If you can't be nice to those kits why don't you stay away from them?" she meowed.
