Limping into the Medicine Den, Ryecloud spotted his father’s sleeping body and made his way over to the tom. Yesterday, the warrior had come back to camp, sopping wet. From what he’d told the clan, he’d apparently saved Mistpaw from the gorge, which every cat knew was possible death.

Sitting down by the dark grey tom, he let out a sigh. While the two of them hadn’t been on the best of terms in the past, he’d tried to forgive his father as much as possible and still loved and respected him. He honestly didn’t know what he’d do if Smokepelt was gone. Kindle was StarClan knows where, and other than Quailfeather, the rest of his littermates were dead or missing. Sheesh, when did life get so lonely? He’d never really thought about the numbers in his family, but now that he did… his kin didn’t seem to be so big anymore.

Lost in thought, the crippled tom was snapped out of his trance when the sound of something rustling near the back of the den caught his attention. Perking his ears, he looked into the darkness, wondering if it was just one of the medicine cats rummaging around for herbs.

Featherpaw, content with how she had sorted the herbs this time (though undoubtedly not for long, the medicine cat apprentice couldn't quite decide what was the most convenient method of sorting them), made her way to her patients once more to check their condition. Noticing a warrior she didn't know very well - not that there were many she did, really only her father - had entered the den while she was otherwise occupied, Featherpaw felt the need to apologize. "Sorry to keep you waiting. Did you need something from me?"

Just as he'd thought, the rustling noises he'd heard was just the medicine cat apprentice. "Must visibing," the grey and white tom mumbled softly, answering her question. He didn't really understand why she apologized to him, but he wasn't going to say anything about it. Not like he said much ever anyways.

Looking back down to Smokepelt, he couldn't help but ask, "How he booing?"
