Scorchkit’s Apprentice Ceremony

Littlebrook lept onto Jaggedrock in one powerful bound before letting her voice ring out with the usual call for a meeting. "Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey join here beneath the Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!"

Scorchkit narrowed his eyes up at the ShadowClan deputy. Why was she calling a Clan meeting and not Magpiestar? Shrugging it off, he wandered out into the clearing with the other warriors and apprentices. The rule of Clan meetings stats that only cats old enough to catch their own prey could join, by he had already caught a frog outside of camp not too long ago when he and Minnowkit wandered out of the camp by themselves. Of course the frog had never been brought back...

Disregarding the memory, the dark gray kit looked up curiously at Littlebrook, curious to know what was going to happen.

Lilacfall exited the warrior's den to watch the meeting unfold, sitting near Scorchkit - her youngest brother. Perhaps it would be his apprentice ceremony. Regardless of the reason, she listened carefully to what Littlebrook had to say - the meeting was called for a reason, obviously, and she was eager to learn what that reason was.

Rowantalon grinning knowlingly as he padded out of the Warrior's den to sit beside his eldest daughter and youngest son. Scorchkit had been in the nursery for nearly six moons now, and Rowantalon had an idea of what this meeting was for. He could only hope that Scorch's mentor would be able to handle him.

Crowfur walked away from what he was doing and sat next to his sister Lilacfall. He looked at Scorchkit and smiled a little. He had a feeling in his gut that his youngest brother would become an apprentice today. He felt proud of all his family that they were all apprentices or warriors.

Scorchkit felt his family surrounding him, and he stood up straight and tall, puffing out his chest proudly. Now he knew what this meeting was, and he knew he actually did have every right to participate as it was centered around him and him alone. He secretly hoped to get an amazing mentor like Firestone or Crowfur -- even though Firestone already had an apprentice and Crowfur was his brother.

Littlebrook smiled as the kit made his way out of the nursery and before long was surrounded by his family and clan mates. “Scorchkit, step forward.” she commanded, her voice ringing loud and clear.

Scorchkit stood tall and padded into the clearing with his head and tail raised high.

Littlebrook nodded with approval as the young almost apprentice stepped forward with eager paws.It was always so nice to see what the new generation of cats had to offer. "Scorchkit, have reached the age of six moons, and are now ready to be apprenticed. From this moment on, until you recieve your warrior name, you will be known as Scorchpaw. Your mentor will be Violetshine. I know she will pass down all she knows to you." She meowed warmly as she gave her granddaughter an apprentice.

The newly named Scorchpaw's eyes widened, and he quickly spotted the heterochromia she-cat in the crowd. Then his eyes narrowed. He knew Violetshine could be bitter and snippy at times, but that didn't necessarily make her a strong warrior, and he wanted to be the best he could possibly be. How in StarClan's name was he supposed to become the leader of ShadowClan one day now?

Of course he kept all these thoughts to himself. Reluctantly, yet politely, he stood straight and tall and waited for his new mentor to formerly greet him.
