Small Wonders

Rowantalon curled around his latest litter of one, a quiet little thing he had named Scorchkit. The young tom had gray fur as long as his eldest brother Crowfur's was and Rowantalon could already tell that, unlike Crowfur, Scorchkit would be quite the handful. The spotted warrior lifted his head as a bird chirped somewhere in the marshy Shadowclan territory, and slowly got to his feet. "Come with me, little one," He rumbled, lifting the gray tom by his scruff and walking carefully outside. "Let's meet your family. Crowfur, Lilacpaw, Owlpaw, everyone! Come meet your littlest brother!" He gently placed his youngest son on the ground, his hazel eyes glimmering as he tried to put Scorchkit's fur in order while they waited.

Scorchkit growled in annoyance as his father tended to his appearance, but he chose not to tell him off... this time. He was interested in meeting his older siblings and Clanmates, he had to admit, so perhaps sitting through being treated as a, well, kit would be worth it.

Lilacpaw, though she hardly looked like an apprentice now as one of the oldest, made her way to her father and her youngest brother with a confidence she only ever had within ShadowClan's camp. "Well, hello there," she purred in greeting to the kit.

Scorchkit narrowed his eyes suspiciously at the she-cat, his soft kitten fur fluffing up hostilely. He recognized his father's faint scent in her fur, and he relaxed, but only just so. "Hi..." he meowed softly, not taking his eyes off his older sister whom he was meeting for the very first time.

Crowfur walked out of the warrior's den after hearing his father call for him and his other siblings. His eyes widened when he saw the new addition to the family. He made his way to them. "Hello Lilacpaw, father!" he greeted warmly. The large warrior looked down at his new brother. "Hey there! I'm Crowfur your oldest brother!" he purred as he sat down in front of the kit.

It seemed Scorchkit was most interested in his eldest brother. He could see hard muscles rippling beneath his dark coat, his amber eyes glistening brightly. If Rowantalon was correct and he looked just like Crowfur, he was very glad.

The kit glared at him challengingly and stood up straight, standing on his toes and lifting up his chin and tail as he tried to match the warrior's height. However, he ended up losing his balance and tumbling to the ground with a squeaky huff.
