IC:

The lights filtered through the trees as Echopaw danced between the leaves in front of the patrol. The air was chilly, but it was nice against the black and white apprentice's face as she played. It was supposed to be a border patrol, just a quick one to check the ShadowClan border, her father said. Not a big deal.

Suddenly, the wind change and a marshy scent hit her nose. She froze, and glanced back at Cloudroar and Elmpaw. "I smell ShadowClan." she whispered, slowly turning her head back to the border.

After everyone posts, then Elmpaw can start the fight.

Rowantalon flicked his tail, trailing behind Mudfoot quietly. He was used to leading patrols, but grateful for the break.
He walked smoothly between the trees, his pawsteps silent on the marshy ground. "How far are we going to patrol today?" He mewed, his hazel eyes glimmering.

The stocky warrior was walking close to the patrol, happy to be doing something else than hunting. With a flick of his ear, the warrior turned his sight back to Rowantalon, grinning jokingly"Why do you ask? Are you tired? We are just getting started!" He meowed friendly to his clanmate. However, his smile soon disappeared when he smelled the scent of another clan close to them. "Skyclan is here..." He growled softly, looking to the tall pine that was the border between his clan and Skyclan.

Leading his patrol to the SkyClan border, Mudfoot listened to his clanmates as they chatted among themselves. It didn't take long for them to get there and soon enough, they arrived at their first patrolling destination. Per usual, he was put in charge of checking to make sure everything was normal near the borders and before Firestone could even speak the words, Mudfoot had caught the SkyClan scent from a soft breeze that blew towards them and his fur stood on end. ShadowClan and SkyClan were actually pretty peaceful clans, but when two patrols just so happened to meet at the border, there would always be an undying tension in the air.

"Stay alert," the older tom spoke. SkyClan cats usually weren't the type to plot an attack or attack at all unless needed to, but he wanted to make sure that his warriors were prepared, just in case. "Firestone, Rowantalon, Snakeblaze, make sure to mark the border. Even if they're nearby, we still need to do our job," Mudfoot mewed to his clanmates and padded over even closer to the border to mark it, his head up and ears perked.

As cool and disconnected as ever, Elmpaw merely shrugged off Echopaw's mention of Shadowclan being nearby. Why wouldn't they be nearby- it was the border after all! Rolling his shoulders smoothly beneath his exotic pelt, the young apprentice simply let out a disinterested little huff as his bright gaze briefly flickered from Echopaw to Cloudroar. "We do share a border with them," He reprimanded with a slight air of superiority, "And they have to mark it sometimes. So it makes sense that those swamp rats would be near." He continued, merely sweeping ahead and closer towards the border without much hesitation.

Cloudroar led the two apprentices towards the border between them and ShadowClan, his expert nose leading the way. As they swiftly made their way towards the border, he began to scent fresh ShadowClan scent. Angling towards them a bit, he flicked his tail for them to stay alert. "There's a ShadowClan patrol up ahead, so keep a level head, okay? We don't want a fight. We're just here to mark the borders." He meowed to them, with a stern look in his blind gaze before they continued on toward the nearing border between the two clans.
