Silverkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Silverkit made his way out of the nursery. His pelt glistened and he deemed himself presentable. He had reached six moons so a little voice in the back of his head told him that this ceremony, or if it even was a ceremony, was for him. He kept his head high as he hid the nervousness and excitement that he felt.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Silverkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Silverpaw. Your mentor will be Nectarleap. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Nectarleap had walked out into camp when Ashstar called her usual summons, assuming it was an apprentice ceremony. Though he had observed many, the only ones he had ever payed attention to were his own and Sootpaw's. His mind darkened when thinking about the energetic young apprentice. He had been devastated when she had disappeared, never to return. As the leader continued, it turned out he was right. Right as he was about to turn and walk into the warrior's den, he heard his name. His eyes widened in surprise and he stepped forward. His first apprentice had only disappeared a moon ago, and he already had a knew one? Well, the leader's word was the code, and he wasn't at all against this. He stepped forward and touched noses with Silverpaw.
"I'll teach you everything I can. Learning starts tomorrow at sunrise."
