Walking with Swift steps

Newtslip padded out of warriots den quietly, she did not want to wake any of older warriors which were usually quite grumpy when youngster disturbs them. She cheered up immediately when she found out that only cat on the clearing was Swiftstep. She was enjoying every time of hid company and their friendship began already in apprentice’s age. She mewed when she came near him: “Enjoying first days of warrior’s rank? You will soon want to sleep more.” It sounded a little strange, because she-cat was not so older than him. She added: “Are you willing to come for a half walk and half patrol? I am not hungry, but I can wait for you.” She was amazed upon herself; being so nice was nothing like Newtslip. She was often harrash and furious with short temper and fuse. Maybe when shr was near Swiftstep she change.

Swiftpaw got up from his spot and gave a small purr when Newtslip came and asked him to go on a patrol-stroll with her. He stretched out, flexing all of his muscles to get rid of the soreness. He looked over at her with a grin. "Actually, I'm not very hungry either. We can go if you like." he spoke softly. He waited for the she-cat to lead him out of the camp.

"Great!"mewed Newtslip and flickered her long tail. With swift steps she leaded the way out of camp constantly looking back. Then she stopped so tom caught with her and said: "I was thinking that we would head for the RiverClan border. Path is not so long and beautiful on the look. Much better than smelling Thunderpath at ShadowClan border."

Swiftstep nodded his head in approval. "Those monsters make the Thunderpath smell terrible. I wouldn't go near it even if I had to." the slim tom said with a teasing smile. He behind followed Newtslip to the Riverclan border.

Grass was getting shorter and this was the sign for RiverClan border. There were no monsters like Swiftstep mentioned and soil was not so dry anymore like on the other of WindClan territory. Newtslip mewed: "I hope there would not be any of that dirty fish-hunters waiting there."

Swiftstep chuckled at the name that Newtslip gave to the Riverclan cats. "Yeah, the path to the river is very pretty Newtslip. Just like you said." The tom whispered the last part while he took in the territory before him. He felt a heat in his chest just mentioning the she-cat's name. He had known Newtslip to be rash and sometimes irritable but it seemed like she was calmer and sweeter around him. He had many thoughts like that as he took a stroll with her beside the Riverclan border.

Newtslip mewed with prickle of amusement in her voice: "The things in clans are pretty tense right now because of that Mist on the gathering, so I do not expect any disturbance from RiverClaners."
