Foxkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Knowing exactly what this Clan meeting entailed for her, Foxkit emerged from the nursery with her chin held high and elegant tail raised above her back. She took a seat infront of the Tallrock, a smug expression painted on her face.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kit. "Foxkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Foxpaw. Your mentor will be Slatethroat. I hope he will pass down all he knows on to you."

Faxpaw immediately turned to meet her new mentor with a complacent grin, her tail shuddering in anticipation.

As of late, so many things had been on the warrior's mind. Everything seemed to be a waiting game. He was in constant anticipation, always looking forwards to what was to come. So, it was no surprise that he was caught completely off guard as the leader called his name. Slatethroat's eyes shot up to her as she stood over the clan. Not for much longer, he thought to himself, smiling softly at the idea. The newly named Foxpaw raced over to him. The warrior reached down to touch his nose to her's gently. There was a dark gleam in his eyes as he looked down at her. She had so much potential. Meowing lowly, the tom simply said, "We start training at dawn. Don't be late."

"I won't be." The crimson-furred apprentice replied with a smirk after touching her mentor's nose, brimming with determination. I won't let you down, Slatethroat. Foxpaw silently promised him.
