Someday these flowers will bloom...

The Bengal and scarred prey-hunter sat down with two pieces of prey in front of his paws. His green eyes gazed the two squirrels with a lost look that showed how unfocused was he. Fox that Hunts in the Night had been through a rough time the last past moons and the situation were even getting worst after the attack of that she-cat called Smokefang. All the chaos just brought him the memories of his gone family... he loved his mate with all his heart and, even if he wasn't a good father, he also loved his kittens as well. But now... almost all of them were gone and he couldn't help but feel lost and bad about it.

He narrowed his eyes, looking thoughtfully to the tall trees around him. All the Skyclan territories remembered to Cloverleaf and the days he spent with her by his side. Those were the happiest days and they were gone. He knew that he couldn't recover them at all so he made a decision... move on and keep living without showing weakness. The remembers of his former mate would always be with him but now it was time to let go and focus on his live more than the ones that died along the path of life. He had to do it for his Tribe and the cats that helped his group.

Standing up with his usually serious face that hid his real thoughts and emotions, the tom picked the two plump squirrels and started walking back to the camp until he heard a strange noise. He quickly sniffed the air and felt the scent of a Skyclan cat, so he relaxed a bit, leaving the prey in the ground again and looking around him so he could who was it. "Hello there." He meowed, hoping to see the cat that was approaching him.

The dusky furred she scat with a darker face had padded out from camp with an attempt to go for a walk and do some possible hunting. She had padded a good ways by herself enjoying the little bit of time alone. Though she had started walking towards a scent of one of tribe member clanmates. She paused spotting the Bengal tom and blinked"oh hi"Duskflower mewed looking at him briefly her tail flicking.

The prey-hunter looked at the she-cat with serious and analyzing eyes, trying to remember her name from the cats he usually heard from the clan. Because he wasn't really talkative at all, he just learn names and rules by listening and, almost all the time, without asking. Looking at her, emotionless, but not aggressive, the tomcat flicked his ears, suddenly remembering a name that could be hers. "You're Dusk of the... sorry, Duskflower, right?" He asked, apologizing for his habit of calling these clan cats with the names of his Tribe. Noticing that she was alone, Fox wondered why she was by herself. He knew that the Skyclan cats preferred to go on patrols in groups and it's a bit strange to see her alone. "What are you doing out here?" Despite his poker-face, Fox that Hunts in the Night showed a glimpse of curiosity in his green eyes.

Duskflower had been just going for a walk even though she knew it was odd to any cat but she had just wanted to relax possibly do some hunting. She looked at the prey Hunter as he looked at her with analyzing eyes. "Yes that's me...you are one of the tribe cats...um Fox....somethi bff right..sorry I'm not good with remembering long names"She mewed sitting down quietly wrapping her dark dusky tail around her paws."oh I was just going for a walk possibly going to hunt...im used to going alone after patrols return means I can bring back more prey that way also I like the quiet it brings"She mewed.

The prey-hunter showed a tiny smile, trying to didn't look so emotionless to her. After the moons he passed in the clan, he had to learn that he must show more friendly expressions if he didn't want that the other clan cats had bad thoughts about him. However, it was hard for him to pretend something he wasn't feeling so he soon stopped.

"Yeah... most of your clanmates don't like to call us for our full name so don't worry. I'm Fox that Hunts in the Night but most of the clan cats call me just Fox." The prey-hunter said when she tried to remember his name, failing and apologizing after that.

His ears flicked when he heard the reasons of the she-cat to be alone. This time, his green eyes were less severe and showed more sincere friendly emotions than before and than he usually did. Giving a quick gaze to the two squirrels before turning back his attention to the dusky she-cat, the prey-hunter spoke to her like a friend, which was pretty unusual for him. "Then I guess we're not so different as I thought, Duskflower. As a prey-hunter, I also prefer hunting alone because the quietness is a good resource to had a better catch and also because I see beauty in it as any cat of my rank. We prefer to hunt by ourselves and enjoy the loneliness but... I must admit that it isn't so bad to be with someone by your side..." Those last words were told to Duskflower with a sad and nostalgic tone. Fox still missed his hunting patrols along Cloverleaf... the only she-cat that seemed to see beyond his serious and cold mask.

The ducks colored warrior sat down quietly relaxing herself as she let a smile ease to her maw. She blinked as as she seen his and she flicked a dark dusky brown ear."Oh alright then...Fox it is then but I'm sure I'll be able to say your full name with time"She mewed flicking her tail with a kind smile."I guess we aren't that different then. It does tend to be lonely hunting well alone but..."She paused trying to think for the right words but paused taking notice of his last sentence and shifted her front paws slowly"would you mind if I possibly joined you hunting then"She asked quietly.

The prey-hunter nodded to her words, trying to cheer up a bit. "Not at all, Duskflower. You can join me if you want." He said, burying the squirrels so he could pick up later. Then he walked among the trees of the Skyclan territory after he beckoned with his tail to the she-cat so she would follow him.

His green eyes soon gazed a bird on the branch of a tree but, since the tom never learned how to climb properly because he was raised in a mountain with no trees at all, he stared at the dove with narrowed and frustrated eyes. Even if he had the perfect muscular body to do it, he would probably fell off before reaching the bird. Fox looked back at Duskflower as he crouched, pointing with his eyes the bird of above. "Look... there's a plump dove you can catch. I cannot climb so probably you'll do it better than me." He meowed quietly, so the animal won't hear him and flew away.

Duskflower got to her paws when he agreed to her tagging along. She gave a small smile and followed after him her golden eyes alert. As they came to a stop it didn't take her long to spot the dove as he pointed it out. She bunched her muscles before she silently began to climb the tree. Her claws sunk into the bark. She then carefully walked along the thick branch. She then caught the dove between her claws before she killed it with a bit of difficulty. She then carefully came down from the tree with the dove hanging from her jaw. She set the bird down and looked to him"you look like you could climb maybe if you would like I could teach you the best way to hunt up in the trees...if you want"She mewed hoping it didn't sound offensive.

Fox watched from the ground how the she-cat climbed so it seemed so easy to do. His green eyes looked her as she caught the bird, showing a glimpse of curiosity and excitement about one day being able to climb like her or any Skyclan cat.

When she came down, the tom didn't expect that she would actually offer him a lesson about climbing. There was nothing that the tom didn't like the most than learning new things to improve his technique so he immediately nodded to Duskflower's offering. "I would like to be such a great climber like you. But... is it okay that a tribe cat like me learn the techniques of your clan? I mean... I know that some of your clanmates don't like us because of what happened in the last Gathering..." He meowed, looking at the tall tree, remembering the kit-mother that betrayed them.

Duskflower smiled some but it faltered for a moment some thing flashed in her eyes."well I'm not my other clanmates I know or at least have a feeling the other tribe cats didn't have anything to do with it...even though I wasn't there at the gathering I just..have a feeling so I wouldn't have a problem showing you"She mewed with a kind smile once again."besides  I wouldn't think you would turn against us....would you?"She asked her gold eyes focused on him

Fox didn't feel offended by the suspicious question of the she-cat at all because he knew that it was normal to have doubts. "I would never betray the clan that welcomed me and my Tribe. Skyclan is my new home and, as my home, I swore that my duty was to protect it with my life. Also... Skyclan also has a special place in my heart since I found love here for the first time... even if she is gone now, Skyclan still means a lot to me. He said, walking to the tree where the she-cat climbed a moment ago. He put one paw on it, thinking about how much he could learn from Duskflower, who seemed kind enough to teach him just like his former mate. "So... shall we begin?
Of course, if you still want to teach me."

Duskflower seemed to relax her doubts eased"of course"She mewed. She had never known love herself not eith another tom but a familial bond seemed to her about the same. Adopted or not. The adopted daughter of the deputy himself stood slowly and hurried the feathery dove before she smiled padding over"of course I'd still love to teach you since skyclan is your home now you'll need to know"She purred smiling. She came over to the tree with him. Thinking of the best way to explain climbing"so...lets see you'll want to get a good grip on the tree so you'll need your claws out obviously"She mewed as she balanced herself placing her dark forepaws on the trunk of the same tree balancing herself easily on her hind legs as she did so claws unsheathing and glinting in the light as they sunk into the tree."then ...youll hull yourself up with each movement you want to find a good grasp...like..."She paused for a moment"like climbing a rock.. sort of"She mewed somewhat lamely trying to help compare it to something he would know.

The tom listened to every Duskflower's instructions, nodding when she finished her first lesson. He looked at his paws, ready to give it a shot. With unsheathed claws, the prey-hunter wrapped the tree with his long paws, digging the claws in the log. Once he was sure he dug it deeply enough he tried to move up, climbing slowly as he moved his paws to dug them a bit higher. It was more exhausting than running or hunting but it wasn't impossible for a cat who had the blood of the Old Skyclan running thought its vein. Soon, he caught the idea that Duskflower tried to say and he was climbing higher and higher with a good speed until he reached a big branch, large enough to stand up over it.

Fox waited for Duskflower to come, happy because of his achievement. He was breathing heavily but the satisfaction of learning something new was a good reward for the tom. His green eyes gazed at the dusky she-cat and in his muzzle, an unusual smirk appeared that showed his gratitude toward the Skyclan warrior. "This is really cool, Duskflower and I want to thank you because of all the advises to gave me to do this. I still need more practice but now I know the basics of climbing.
So, hunting is similar here compared to the regular hunting?" He asked, recovering his serious expression but also showing a glimpse of curiosity inside his eyes.

Duskflower watched his progress as he climbed the tree. She smiled at his success and once he was successfully on a branch she began to climb. She shot up the tree with ease as she reached the batch just above his not wanting to risk the additional weight and breaking the branch laying down carefully she looked down to him."well it's not a problem in glad I can help. As for hunting it is a bit different up here you have to be more careful lighter on your paws even. One wrong step on a branch too weak and you could plummet to the ground below and probably break or sprain something. "She mewed before she said"I would know even i myself for my assessment fell from a tree and knocked my back leg out of place but I still became a warrior"She mewed smiling some.

Fox looked at his paws after Duskflower's advice. He had to be careful if he didn't want to end up with something broken but, for his luck, even if he was pretty tall, his body was sleek and light so maybe he could reach branch less thick one day.

His green eyes blinked with surprise when the she-cat told him about how she fell when she was a To-be. He looked at her legs, searching for any wound from that fall before asking her about it. "Really? I didn't notice that you have an injury like that when I saw you since you even had a limped walking. Does it hurt?" The prey-hunter was a bit concerned because of what she said. It was his natural instinct as a protective cat who only wanted to keep everyone safe and healthy, even if she was just cat that he just met.
