Barkpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

With an excited expression, Barkpaw bound up to the rock, sitting down quietly but he could hardly keep still.

Blizzardstar waited until enough cats were gathered before speaking again “Barkpaw, please, step forward”

Without missing a beat, the apprentice stood up and stepped forward, his face beaming.

Blizzardstar took a deep breath “I, Blizzardstar, leaderof ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the the tom “Barkpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

This was it. The big moment. It was something he had been dreaming of for a while, and now here he was about to become a warrior! Taking a deep breath, he calmed himself long enough to answer. "I do."

Blizzardstar smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Barkpaw, from this moment you will be known as Barkfall. StarClan honors your free spirit and hard work, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

"Barkfall! Barkfall!" Coyotepaw yowled his brother's new warrior name. Forever, he had heard the stories of the great warriors of the forest. His own brother was now one of them. For the first time in a while, his maw spread into a wide grin. He rose up onto all four paws and called up to the sky. The apprentice looked over at Barkfall with shining eyes. Someday he hoped to be standing next to him as a warrior. They would be the best fighters and hunters in all the forest. Even if he wasn't quite sure where he belonged, or quite what they were fighting for, Coyotepaw was determined.
