Skirmish time! (For those in the plot)

Nutpaw was walking along with her patrol, not really paying attention to anything in paticular. They were patrolling the river, and had already patrolled the majority of it. They were just about to reach where ThunderClan territory ended and SkyClan began. After that, it would all be over. She could go back and just relax at camp. That was, of course, if no dens needed to be cleaned out. That was the worst part about being an apprentice. Well, scratch that, there were eorse things. She just hoped that she could join Finchstream as a warrior soon. Looking around at the cats patrolling with her, she decided that there could be way worse cats to be with. Her and Cinderpaw had been friends before she went into her coma, and the brown apprentice liked to think that they had bonded somehow over Flowerpetal´s death. And Sootwhisper was a respectable warrior, but she didn´t know him to well.
Then they hit the SkyClan border. Nutpaw marked the borders, then turned to look at the rest of her patrol.

Cinderpaw couldn't help but sigh she wanted to be back in camp, she could tell Echokit didn't like to be alone. She would rather clean out the dens then to make Echokit sad. And her heart ached just thinking if his father would be angry at him again and she wasn't there to stop it. But patrolling was part of being an apprentice after all and it will make her a warrior faster, once she becomes a warrior she can keep Echokit more safe. And be with Jaystream more... He has agreed to help with Echokit but he has been so busy lately.. She shook her head trying to get back in reality she looked ahead of her to find she was lagging behind. Catching up with them she smiled a bit at Nutpaw, she has felt closer to the apprentice after Flowerpetal's death and they were close before she went under coma so it was nice to go on patrol with her. Then she looked over to Sootwhisper a warrior she doesn't really know well. Really other then Jaystream she doesn't know any warriors...

Sootwhisper padded silently behind the two apprentices, his ear moving from time to time to cats the noises around him, the only sign that he was not some kind of zombie or cat put in automatic for whatever reason. His eyes traveled across the border they shared with SkyClan, while he had no intention to get in a fight with them unless he had no other choice and he sincerely wasn’t as interested as most warriors and apprentices on battling those that didn’t belong to his clan, he knew he couldn’t let his guard down. Several incidents in the past had gave him that kind of knowledge and he didn’t want to be taken off-guard.

Rosepaw's tail dragged behind her and her ears were flattened. Her gaze kept flickering to Cloudroar, she still can't believe he gets to be a warrior and not her. Then after their mother's death he didn't do a thing to help. It was like he didn't even care their mother died. Why did she agree to go on a patrol with this idiot? Her claws unsheathed but she took a deep breath to calm herself, there would be nothing to gain if she attacks him right now. There really is nothing she can do really the only thing she can do is follow what apprentices have to do and pray to Starclan she can be a warrior soon. Her blue eyes lifted and she realized they were at the Riverclan border but her tail flicked angrily as she saw the small patrol on the other side. A low growl escaped her and she had to take another deep breath. But a hint of mischievous flickered in her eyes, if she gets in a battle with them that will guarantee her warriorship. She looked over her shoulder for the rest of the patrol with a small smile then back at the Riverclan patrol.

Cloudroar padded quietly a few paces ahead of Rosepaw and Pineheart as he lead the way to the RiverClan border. Since his mother's death, he had been driving himself to near exhaustion by volunteering for almost every patrol. He didn't care though because it kept his mind off things. Plus he could focus more on the family he still had. Rosepaw was one of them. He had picked up her frustration whenever he was around her, and he had a pretty good idea what it was about, though he never said anything to her. It would frustrate him too if tons of apprentices younger than him were earning their warrior names while he was still an apprentice, so he kept quiet about it. Soon they were at the border and the strong fishy scent of RiverClan wafted over to him. Of course. he thought irritably. They had met a RiverClan patrol at their border that they shared, and he was not really itching for a fight. He was exhausted from the day's work and he just wanted to mark the borders and go back to his nest and sleep. He could sense the mischief coming off of Rosepaw in waves, and he had to stifle a sigh as he rested his tail across her shoulders as a way to try and calm her.

Pineheart walked in the front, leading Rosepaw and Cloudroar behind her. When she saw a Riverclan patrol across the River she tensed. Were they going to do something? Luckily they didn't seem to notice them, but she could almost feel the mischief rolling off of Rosepaw. Putting a large paw in front of the apprentice she muttered, "Not now. Fighting is a part of Clan life, yes, but don't seek it out."


OOC: Short super busy and tired today

Nutpaw sighed as she saw the group of SkyClan cats just patrolling their border, just like she was. Fighting didn't even cross her mind until she heard one of the cats growl. Looking over the patrol, there seemed to be two warriors, and maybe a newly appointed warrior or an apprentice with them. She stifled a laugh when Pineheart spoke. That was not a subtle warning at all. She just marked the border quietly, throwing a glance their way. Looking back at the rest of her patrol, she sighed.
"We are not going to fight them, right?"

Sootwhisper’s only reaction to the scent of cats coming from the other side was a quick look with bored eyes and a flick of his ear as acknowledgment of their presence before his gaze returned to the patrol with him. He never had been one to be eager to start a fight not throw insults with other clans over the border. However, unlike his relaxed posture made it appear, he was with a really high guard, if the cats on the other side said or tried anything he was going to make sure to not be taken off-guard. He was the warrior in this small patrol, so the safety of his clanmates was a major concern of his. In one of his past patrols an apprentice had been severely maimed by an enemy clan, he wasn’t going to let that happen again if he could help it.
