| Oakpaw breathed in deeply, a smile working its way onto her face. There weren't many days like this anymore; with Wildpaw and Daypaw's constant dispute, nothing was rarely calm or soothing about the time the siblings had spent with each other. So, Oakpaw, like her sister, chose to ignore it, until it got too personal. But back to the topic at hand. The brown, ginger tinted she-cat looked over at her sister, eyes shining with an emotion she rarely showed; joy. "Isn't it wonderful, Lilacpaw? The swamps of Shadowclan really is a sight to see." | Lilacpaw nodded, walking alongside her sister. "It's nice. And peaceful," she added, with the slightest hint of relief in her voice.
She loved her siblings, she really did, but their feuding was ridiculous and she had difficulty dealing with Wildpaw and Daypaw at the same time.
Both seemed absolutely certain they would become leader.
Lilacpaw thought they were both ridiculous in that aspect.

| "Yes, peaceful," Her smile faded, and was replaced with the familiar frown that her face had grown too comfortable with. "I don't know what got into them, but I hope it stops soon. I miss...us. I miss spending time with them. She fell quiet as she looked around, paying close attention as she tried to spot any prey.

| Lilacpaw paused and sniffed the air. "I think you're right," she said, cautiously.
She slowly moved in that direction, until seeing a frog and pouncing.

| Oakpaw gasped, mocking shock and hurt, "Hey! I sniffed it out! That was supposed to be my kill! Seriously, Lilacpaw?" She huffed and stalked off in another direction, sniffing the air for another thing she could catch. Finally, she came across a lizard. "Not as good as a whole frog, but, it'll have to do." She crouched, slinking towards it, belly barely scraping across the floor, her tail as still as it could be. When she deemed herself close enough, Oakpaw lunged forward, claws unsheathed. Unfortunately, she was a few mouse-tails short. "Sorry, Oakpaw. I guess I got carried away."
She would have to focus. She couldn't just let herself get carried away like that, even if she was going to be the best hunter in the Clan someday.
She wouldn't be like Wildpaw and Daypaw, focused only on a distant dream.
She couldn't let herself be that way.
