Mistery Detectives #1 (Cosed for those in the plot)

Shrewpaw ignored the stinging scars on his body as he stood up. It wasn't hard for him to ignore pain, it came naturally to him, but the knowledge that it was there annoyed him. The mist had done this to him, as well as taking his best friend, and what were any other cats doing about it? Nothing, that is what it seemed like to him. So right then and there he decided to take matters into his own paws and go find a way to defeat the mist. As he began to walk out of the apprentice den, it occurred to him that maybe some other apprentices would like a chance to fight the mist too. So he turned around to face the other apprentices.
"I've decided to go find out how to defeat the mist," he stated matter of factly. "Does anyone want to come?"

Birdpaw was resting in the apprentice's den when she awoke hearing the voice of Shrewpaw. 'Find a way to defeat the mist?' she thought to herself. She got up slowly, trying to prevent her wounds from opening again. "Hey Shrewpaw...I'd like to help you. I want to bring Reedpaw and Honeypaw back!" she called to the other apprentice. She was determined to find her lost siblings and bring them back safely. She didn't really want to fight the mist as she experienced it's power but she wanted to find some clues of where the mist had taken her siblings.

Swirlpaw was somewhat skeptical of Shrewpaw's quest to defeat the mist. How could they even find the mist? And hadn't the mist killed cats? He soon shook the doubt away when he heard Birdpaw jump at the proposition. An adventure fighting the mist with Birdpaw? he asked himself, weighing the idea. Eh, Why not?

The white-furred tom jumped to his paws, strolling beside her so that they barely brushed pelts. "I'll go," he mewed, his voice optimistic," I wanna see what this whole mist thing is all about." He felt a pang of guilt about Reedpaw and Honeypaw. Birdpaw's siblings had been gone for a long time, Swirlpaw had almost forgotten about them. He never asked Birdpaw how she felt about it all, but now he regretted it.

Shrewpaw looked at the two cats who offered to join. Three of them would be enough for now. Though he didnt know either of them to well, he knew that Birdpaw was Reedpaw´s sister and she always hung out with Swirlpaw. Turning his head and body to face out into the center of camp, he spoke to his two knew followers. "Let´s go then!"
The brown tom took a few strides into camp, then started towards the exit. His scars ached like the dark forest as he climbed out of their clan´s home, but he ignored the pain and pressed on. As soon as his paws reached the ground out of camp and in the forest, he turned to see how much the other two had progressed.

IC: Birdpaw got out of her nest and carefully walked out of the apprentice's den. She looked to see if Swirlpaw was coming with her. Once she was reassured, she strode out and made her way to Shrewpaw. She winced at the burning feeling of her injuries but she was determined to find out where her siblings were. She felt excited to be traveling with her crush and Reedpaw's best friend.

Once they caught up to Shrewpaw, her strong demeanor deteriorated. What if she never got to see them again? Her eyes held pain and sadness as she remembered her parents' dull eyes. Her mother was the cat she worried about. Her father was a strong warrior and he taught her to be strong. She shook all thoughts out of her head and she patiently waited for Shrewpaw to keep going.

Swirlpaw maintained a relatively easy demeanor, as he'd never really witnessed the mist and what it could do. It fell, however, when he saw Birdpaw's face fall. Her eyes held emotions the white-furred tom wished she'd never had to experience. His own strange eyes fell to his paws as he guiltily looked away. This means so much to her and her family, he thought, How could I treat it so nonchalantly? The tom found a new determination inside of himself, for Birdpaw's sake.

Swirlpaw padded up next to Birdpaw and nudged her. " Let's go show this mist who's boss," he mewed, his voice optimistic," We're gonna find Honeypaw and Reedpaw, and we're gonna save everyone else, too!" He turned to Shrewpaw " Any ideas on where to check first?"

As the other two apprentices made their way out of camp to join him, Shrewpaw noticed the two different cat´s emotions. While Birdpaw seemed to be driven by sadness, Swirlpaw seemed to be driven by a desire to help his friend. Though he didn´t quite agree with either of them, as he was driven by anger and annoyance, he would take all the help that he could get. When the other tom talked, he was glad he wasn´t be a downer like literally everyone else. Personally, he didn´t really doubt the fact that they would succeed. When he was asked what they should do, he realized that he hadn´t thought about that yet.After a few moments of mulling it over, he replied.
"Well, as I see it, we have three options. First of all, we can ask someone who has witnessed cats being taken or killed by the mist to lead us to the site where it happened and investigate that. Another option is to set a trap for the mist and have a chance of seeing it up close. Or we could go to the Fourtrees or the SkyClan border, where all the important stuff has happened." Shrewpaw waited for the other two apprentices to respond to which option they wanted to do. Any of them seemed reasonable to him.

IC: Birdpaw listened carefully to Shrewpaw's explanations and question. She analyzed the available options in her head. Her eyes hardened at the thoughts until she came up with a response. "Alright, let's go with asking witnesses first. They saw it with their own two eyes so we know they can help us make at least some progress. Then we can head to Fourtrees and see what else we can find there. Finally, we can attempt to lure the mist and witness it ourselves. It is very risky but we need a lot of clues to come to a conclusion." she answered.
