It was a clear night- the moon shone over the marsh as crickets and katydids began to sing softly. A red-winged blackbird twittered sleepily to itself as an owl flew past.
Rowantalon padded towards the apprentice den quietly, his green eyes bright. He was a small, clumsy apprentice no more. His muscles rippled beneath his pelt, and he had grown into his large paws.
The tom stuck his head into the den, feeling a wave of familiarity wash over him.
"Bonepaw, it's time to start training." He mewed softly.
He slowly padded towards the camp entrance where he sat, curling his tail around his paws while he waited for his apprentice.
