Who's Up For Round Two?

Flowerpetal sighed as she curled around her two kits, her beautiful sons.
One of them was a handsome red tom- the image of her mate. He was bold and daring, always willing to head into a fight, so she had named him Rushkit. The other was a beautiful gray-and-white tom, smaller than his older brother, yes, but sweet and kind, and as soft as the foam that gathers around the riverbeds, hence the name Foamkit.

She purred as they began to stir, reaching down and licking Foamkit's nose gently.
"Come on, you two." She mewed softly. "Today you can go outside the nursery."

Rushkit frowned. Outside the nursery? There was an outside of the nursery? The tom's entire world was that small enclosed den. He only knew Swankit and Foamkit, his siblings. However, he was the first to excitedly jump at his mother's words and scamper towards the nursery entrance. New world, here I come! he thought excitedly.

Foamkit squirmed under the gentle tongue of his mother, mewing loudly in protest. "I can wash myself!" the tom-kit claimed in a tone of annoyance, but whereas other days he would've stayed in the den and showed his mom his incredible skills, now Foamkit could only think of what his mother had told him. Outside?! Woah! Yes, please! his mind was racing as he sprinted towards his brother at the exit of the nursery, sending them both tumbling outside clumsily. The sun was powerful and the RiverClan kit yelped in surprise as he tried to look at it. Okay, bad idea. he told himself, then opened his eyes once again, this time on ground-level. His mind was blown by the huge number of cats he could see pacing around, and to think all of those cats were his friends...

Swankit was already outside the nursery, curled up and watching the daily life of the RiverClan cats. She purred at the sight of her brothers. "Good morning, Rushkit, Foamkit," she said brightly.

Foamkit turned around in surprise as his sister greeted them both from behind. "How come mum let you out earlier?" he meowed in surprise, and with a hint of jealousy. I wanted to be the first one 'out', but now Rushkit barreled ahead of me and Swankit was already out! That makes me the last one! he thought unhappily, but his mind didn't linger much on the subject, and the young kit clambered on top of his sister and stumbled onto the other side.

"I didn't wait for her to wake up," Swankit said simply. She had woken up before her mother, and taken the opportunity to slip outside.
