Sah duuuuude (Weedpaw's assessment)

Specklefang paced and paced, her tail lashing with ever increasing frustration. The constant stress making her paws itch, the need to move overwhelming. Thunderclan had been plagued with so much grief and death that it was suffocating her, and her clan-mates along side her most likely. So what could so do about it? Well.. should give one young cat a mission that could change their life forever, or at least give them a day of happiness.

Nodding to herself Specklefang strode towards a sleek young tom, her face stern and her body towering over the tom. "Weedpaw. How do you feel about an assessment?" Specklefang meowed, her brow quirking in question as she looked down at the young tom, awaiting his answer.

Weedpaw stared up at her boldly. "I am ready. I will make Daylight proud."

Puffing out her chest she turned to look at him, "I want you to hunt four pieces of prey, one has to dwell in the trees, one has to fly, one has to slither, and one has to be fast." She meowed, keeping the prey items vague so he had freedom to catch whatever he wanted, she just hoped that he didn't go for a lizard. She would legitimately smack him if he tried.

Dwell in the trees... he thought. Must be a squirrel!

Weedpaw bunched up his muscles and leaped up to a low-lying branch to look around and scent a little better.

Suddenly, a loud hoot was heard. It was ferocious, angry, and indignant about a cat hopping onto a branch right next to its nest. Two hostile yellow eyes stared at Weedpaw through a hollow in the tree. It stepped out, revealing its full size and striking out at the poor apprentice with its sharp Talons

Shocked, Weedpaw slipped on the branch, falling onto one even closer to the ground that was below it. He realized this would be a perfect spot to attack from and bunched his hindquarters, launching himself at the owl that was attempting to take off. He dragged it to the ground for Specklefang to help finish it off.

Weedpaw used Tree Spring, dealing 6 damage and costing 10 SP!

Again? Specklefang was getting really tired of all these predators attacking apprentices, and having to save their sorry behinds! She was just planning on sitting back and having them fend for themselves, but she wasn't that cruel. Slinking forwards Specklefang was low to the ground, coiling her muscles for a spring. Landing it like the seasoned warrior she was, she held it down with her jaws as her claws went to town on it.

Specklefang used leap-and-hold! Costing 9 damage and 10 stamina! The Owl is stunned for two turns!

Weedpaw slipped down from the branch and leaped onto the owl that was being held down. With all his strength, he scoured its soft breast with his claws, staining its feathers red with blood.

Specklefang held true, her claws and teeth cruelly ripping out feathers from the owl. Her anger great at the threat it was to Weedpaw, tail lashing the she-cat moved aside to give the young tom some space. "Kill it." She snapped, allowing the young tom some space to it's throat. "It'll be good for the clan to eat something this.. plump." Specklefang meowed coolly.

Weedpaw quickly sprung into position to give the finishing blow. He had expected the mousebrained bird to die, but had not expected Specklefang to give him the honor of bringing this kill to the Clan. He decided that he would not waste his opportunity to impress the older cat, bearing his teeth. They sunk into the throat of the owl, puncturing the major artery that hid inside the flesh. Quickly, the blood gushed out and turned the tawny feathers a deep crimson. The young tom did not let go until he was certain the owl was dead, the creature in question giving one last spasm before falling limp.

"I'll let Blizzardstar know that you're ready, especially after a catch like that." Nodding towards the young tom she left him do drag the bird back.
