Badger's defeat [Open to SC Medicine Cats]

Badgerstorm couldn't stop thinking about the conflict with the WindClan apprentices. Had he done the right thing? He was only protecting his territory. Perhaps, ShadowClan might need to strengthen their borders, or increase them towards WindClan's territory. They could use some more prey. The tom flinched at the throbbing of his belly. Those apprentices fought hard to scrape my belly, he thought, seeming rather impressed with their fighting style. But perhaps, Badgerstorm needed more fighting experience to take on two apprentices at the same time. He remembered one of the apprentices calling out to the apprentice that finished him... Oakpaw? Badgerstorm dared to meet the WindClan toms at the next Gathering. Slightly limping towards camp and grunting at the pain from his shoulder and especially at his belly, he was finally back at his familiar surroundings in the camp. He made his way to the medicine cats' den, hoping to seek treatment for his scratches on his belly. Badgerstorm tried hard to ignore the pain, but he wasn't so used to fighting cats so much. He never likes the foul leaves and seeds that the medicine cats provide them. Peeking his head through the den, Badgerstorm called out to the medicine cats. "Honeydrop?"

Roaringpaw had been sorting herbs, going through and thinking about possible new herbal mixtures he wanted to create. After moons of memorization, the medicine cat apprentice had finally learned every herb known to Shadowclan. He peered down at the herbs with full concentration, wanting to make a poultice that was more effective in warding off infections. Thinking hard, he almost didn't notice Badgerstorm poking his head into the den.

"Hey Badgerstorm!" Roaringpaw greeted when he heard the Shadowclan warrior. He noticed the tom favoring one of his shoulders. "Do you need some help with your shoulder? That looks painful," he meowed sympathetically. Then his face fell into a contemplative frown at the amount of pain the Shadowclan warrior seemed to be in just for a shoulder-unless there was more. "Is there more than your shoulder that's hurting, Badgerstom?"

Badgerstorm felt a sense of gratitude when the medicine cat apprentice responded. He'd like to have his shoulder looked at, but it was mostly his belly that bought the most attention. "Roaringpaw," he greeted, dipping his head respectfully at the future medicine cat. He never understood why cats would rather sit around and play with herbs, but they had a different style of living. Badgerstorm wouldn't stand doing nothing but healing. He'd rather dig his claws into something more challenging.

Hearing Roaringpaw's question, Badgerstorm almost wanted to snap at the young tom for the obvious pain on his belly. The scratches were deep, but the tom held onto his tongue as he threw back the retort. The medicine cat apprentice wouldn't be able to notice the cuts hiding below. "My belly dealt a few blows," he said, slightly flinching from the throbbing. Badgerstorm tried his best to show no weakness, but the cuts were too much. "I attacked two WindClan apprentices. They were just behind our border, and I had to teach them not to come too close." Badgerstorm let out a small grumble as his mind was bought back to the scratches that the apprentices dealt.

(OOC: Is the pain in the shoulder from scratches/bite or a  pulled muscle? Oh and sorry if it's long, Roaringpaw's finally getting to treat somebody so I might go a little ham hereXD)

Roaringpaw nodded, "Okay, I can fix that up for you. Let me get some supplies. Please lie down while I get everything ready, I won't take long." Going to the back of the den, the medicine cat apprentice took out some poppy seeds from a wrap of beech leaves and gave them to Badgerstorm. "Eat these, they'll help with the pain." Then he pulled out some dock leaves and chewed them into a pulp, spreading the poultice on his scratches. "These will soothe your scratches," He explained. On the smaller scratches, Roaringpaw put cob nut ointment to make sure that he'd be in as little pain as possible from his battle wounds. Finally, the medicine cat apprentice chewed an oak leaf into a poultice and added that over all the scratches. "This oak leaf will prevent you from getting an infection." Bringing out some catweed, Roaringpaw placed the burrs on Badgerstorm's belly to make sure the poultice wouldn't rub away. Finally, he added a layer of cobwebs to bind the deeper wounds together and also keep the healing mixture in place. "Alrighty, your belly's all fixed up! Now let's get that shoulder taken care of. May I take a look at it?"

Badgerstorm reluctantly ate the seeds as Roaringpaw went to work. The tom felt a little drowsy, but the pain at his belly was finally draining. The medicine cat apprentice knew how to soothe his pains as Badgerstorm felt slightly relaxed for once. Relieved, Badgerstorm purred in a relaxed manner as he watched Roaringpaw walk around the den and creating strange poultices and ointments. He felt rather curious as to how Roaringpaw can tell from leaf from leaf and seed from seed. Badgerstorm had a slight change of perception when he noticed how much work the medicine cat apprentice went through to heal just one warrior.

He felt uncomfortable with the cobwebs, but they weren't as bad as the pain. Badgerstorm looked over to his shoulder, finding it more easier to pay attention to with his belly now healing. The scratches did hurt, but they weren't as bad as his belly. He could tell that they weren't that deep, but his belly would definitely keep some scars. "Yes," he purred to Roaringpaw, exposing his scratched shoulder.

(OOC: Poppy seeds give drowsiness and could potentially make a cat fall asleep if fed enough. Roaringpaw didn't give that many, and used cobnuts to make sure he didn't have to use that many don't worryXD You're not rude, that's a good question actually:) Oh btw, I changed Roaringpaw's stats because apparently a medicine cat apprentice gets a different one from an apprentice.)

"Okay, let's see here..." Roaringpaw looked at Badgerstorm's shoulder. "It looks like it's just minor scratches, so I won't have to give you any more poppy seeds," he assessed. The medicine cat apprentice spread some cobnut ointment onto the scratches and plastered dock leaf poultice into the swallow cuts. He pulled away from his patient. "There, you should be all set then!"

(After this topic is done, all your hp will be back to normal. Next time I'll leave the healing battle system for battles- the requirement for the return of full health is to see a medicine cat & get roleplayed treatment in the medicine cat den.)

Badgerstorm noticed a huge difference as the pain faded away. The WindClan apprentices did good damage, he won't lie about that, but he felt proud with the amount of damage he did to the apprentices. Badgerstorm felt that he caused more pain on them, especially one of the apprentices that he knocked out. Badgerstorm fled first as Oakpaw sent him running back to ShadowClan, the pain in his belly too distracting to continue the fight. It was a close one, but at least one WindClan apprentice was taken down. Oakpaw looked exhausted too, but not that exhausted as he would be able to help his friend back to camp. Badgerstorm fled just in time to be able to take himself back to camp, feeling grateful for Roaringpaw's presence. He agreed to himself to rest for one or two nights, but that wouldn't stop him from hunting or joining border patrols. He had an apprentice to train.

"Thanks Roaringpaw," he mewed, stepping out of the den. Feeling relaxed, he picked up a frog from the fresh-kill pile and headed towards the warriors' den. He stopped for a heartbeat, looking back towards the medicine cats' den. Perhaps he didn't show his full gratefulness. Returning to the medicine cats' den with the frog in his jaws, he dropped the fresh-kill in front of Roaringpaw. "I think you'll need it after your hard-working efforts. Get your strength back up." Badgerstorm returned to the fresh-kill pile, taking a newt and heading towards the warriors' den where he can finally rest.
