Emberkit and Swiftkit's Apprentice Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!" she yowled commandingly.

Emberkit heard and she waited for Swiftkit to accompany her to the meeting, she was very excited, she wondered what was up.

Swiftkit ran towards Emberkit and followed her to the meeting. He was very excited to see what it could be about.

Ashstar nodded approvingly at the young kits. "Emberkit, Swiftkit, you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior names, you will be known as Emberpaw and Swiftpaw. Emberpaw, your mentor will be Stoneheart. Swiftpaw, your mentor will be Ryecloud. I hope they will pass down all they know on to you."

Emberpaw looked around for her new mentor, excited to start.

Swiftpaw couldn't keep his excitment anymore! He was finally an apprentice! He looked around for his assigned mentor.

When Ashstar said his name, Stoneheart's yellow eyes widened. He was already getting his first apprentice? Nerves began to settle in his limbs as the weight of his new responsibility began to hit him. Would he be good enough to train someone so early on? Despite the worry hanging in his head, Stoneheart didn't even consider voicing his concern outloud. It was an honor for Ashstar to trust him to carry out such an important task so quickly into his warrior-hood. He wouldn't let her down, whether he was confident about it or not. After all, that was his duty as a warrior.

Stepping forward, Stoneheart padded up to his first apprentice with slightly stiff movements from nerves. However, when he looked down and met eyes with Emberpaw, the feeling faded away for a rush of warm compassion towards the newly-made apprentice. She reminded him of when he started. Stoneheart smiled when he touched noses with Emberpaw, determined to mentor her as best as he could.

Emberpaw touched noses back, thoroughly happy.

Upon hearing his name, the grey and white tom heaved himself up onto his three working legs and limped up to the front of the crowd, dragging his limp hind-leg behind him. Touching noses with Swiftpaw, he lifted his head and looked down to his new apprentice. "I hant vait to star traibing wif you," he mewed while attempting to muster up a smile, his underdeveloped jaw causing him trouble when trying to speak.

Swiftpaw touched noses with his mentor excited to start training. "I can't wait to start either!" He purred happily.
