Daypaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardstar took a deep breath before hopping onto the Highrock, this was a special ceremony after all. Her own adopted son and apprentice was about to become a warrior, and this was also going to be her very first ceremony as a leader. Smiling at the thought, she finally gave the call she had grown so used to during her time as deputy “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Daypaw padded over and sat down looking up at his mother.

Blizzardshine smiled at her son for a couple seconds before speaking once more, her words soft and motherly “Daypaw, please, step forward”

Daypaw stepped forward. He smiled and he almost wanted to yell his happiness to the world.

Blizzardstarhad to take a deep breath to keep herself from breaking the formality of the ceremony “I, Blizzardstar, leader of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn” Her motherly eyes, full of pride and happiness, locked themselves on her son's “Daypaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

"I do." Daypaw meowed.

A soft purr could be heard coming from Blizzardstar's throat for half a second “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Daypaw, from this moment you will be known as Daylight. StarClan honors your optimism and perseverance, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” Almost immediately after those words, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony formally "I'm so proud of you, son".

Daypaw smiled and nuzzled his mom back. "Thanks mom. Although I owe most of it to you." He purred.
