Nectarpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Ashstar leapt onto the Tallrock. "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather underneath the Tallrock for a Clan meeting!"

Nectarpaw excitedly raced to beneath Tallrock. This had to be his warrior ceremony, what else could it be? He had completed his assessment, and he wasn't aware of anything else that this could be about. He tried to look as professional and warrior-like as he could, but anticipation and excitement showed clear as day on his face.

Ashstar smiled at the apprentice. "Nectarpaw, please step forwards." Once the she-cat did, she continued. "I, Ashstar, leader of WindClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. He has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend him to you as a warrior in his turn. Nectarpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?"

Nectarpaw now knew for sure that this was his warrior ceremony. As seriously as he could, he stepped forward and took a deep breath. "I do." he said confidently, a little bit of the eagerness he was trying to hide showing.

Ashstar nodded. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Nectarpaw, from this moment you will be known as Nectarleap. StarClan honors your warmth and quick thinking, and we welcome you as a full warrior of WindClan." The leader leapt down and rested her muzzle on top of the new warrior's head.

Nectarpaw sucked in a breath as his new name was said. Now Nectarleap, he could barely contain shouts of excitement as the leader placed her muzzle on top of his. "Nectarleap," he whispered to himself, enjoying his new name. He was finally a warrior of WindClan, and he was already loving it.
