Be Careful of the Snakes!

Maplecloud led the patrol of two cats- herself and her new apprentice, Shrewpaw- around the burned territory, trying to find someplace that wasn't as burned as most of the other territory. When they soon came to the Snakerocks to find them not half as bad as most other locations, she came to a stop. "Alright, Shrewpaw. I want you to listen carefully. This is the Snakerocks, and although we did just have a forest fire, we don't know if the adders are still here or if they fled. In other words, I want you to be extremely careful. Got it?" She meowed, wanting herself to be heard by the newly appointed apprentice. She held a stern face, as she would until the young apprentice replied.

Shrewpaw followed his mentor, Maplecloud, through the charred forest of ThunderClan territory. Once they arrived at Snakerocks, Shrewpaw listened to Maplecloud's warning. "Okay, so adders may or may not be here, and they bite. Got it." Shrewpaw was starting to wonder how great a mentor she was for getting worked up over snakes, but by now he knew everyone had their fears, no matter how irrational that they seemed. Her stern face didn't bother him, he hardly even noticed it because he was focusing on the land rather than his mentor. He looked over the rocks with an expression of calm and anticipation, wondering how much prey he would be able to catch with his mentor teaching him.
