Umberpaw's Warrior Ceremony

Blizzardshine smiled as she hoped onto the Highrock, finally another apprentice was ready to become a warrior “All cats old enough to catch their own prey gather under the Highrock for a clan meeting!”.

Sandblaze oadded over and sat down.

Cloudpaw padded over.

Stonepaw padded over.

Umberpaw padded over and sat down.

Rainwhisper, Coldbreeze, and Badgerstrike padded over and sat down.

Blizzardshine waited until enough cats were gathered before speaking again “Umberpaw, please, step forward”

Umberpaw stepped forward

Blizzardshine took a deep breath “I, Blizzardshine, deputy of ThunderClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. She has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend her to you as a warrior in her turn” Her gentle eyes soon landed on the the she-cat “Umberpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?”.

"I do." Emberpaw meowed.

Blizzardshine smiled and nodded approvingly before she continued speaking “Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. Umberpaw, from this moment you will be known as Umberflame. StarClan honors your curiosity and dedication, and we welcome you as a full warrior of ThunderClan” With that, she leaped off the Highrock and rested her muzzle on the newly named warrior’s head to conclude the ceremony.

Blacktwig looked on, eyes misted. My granddaughter, he thought proudly. He was sure he chanted as one of the loudest when it came to calling her name. "Umberflame! Umberflame!" the senior warrior cried. Mothstrike... I hope you're watching, prayed Blacktwig. His mind was an ambivalent mess. He got up, smoothing his ragged, waif fur to congratulate Umberflame. He nuzzled her. "Congratulations," he said, his purr full of warmth.

Umberflame nuzzled her grandfather back and breathed in his scent. "Thanks!" She purred.
