Oh.. Hello (OPEN)

Falconpaw followed the sound of the churning river to the shore. He pressed his paws into the cool damp sand made from rocks from long ago. He dropped his vole in a dry place and looked into the water. The loner-born apprentice had never seen a river, spending his youth hidden in a sewage pipe with his mother until the unfortunate events that put him in the clan. He swiped a paw across the water and watched the droplets fly in the air. Prey was rich around here for sure, lush grasses and cool water attracted every creature. He lapped up the water and looked around. His skinny form glittered with water beads and his bleak eyes darted from place to place. While he was mystified by the body of water, he had heard that this area was a border and borders grew hostile.

A strong hiss rose from the reeds.

Fallowstripe stopped. He didn't seem so bad. "Are you planning on crossing?" challenged Fallowstripe, in a tetchy and irritable manner. The RiverClan warrior's tail-tip shivered as the wind weaved through her fur. Does ThunderClan have a problem? It should get its cats out of our territory! Fallowstripe's eyes glared with the sun. Her words were just a warning, not a threat. She padded forth, elegant frame highlighted by the rising sun, and stared stately down at Falconpaw. Fallowstripe wasn't exactly a border freak, but she needed to protect RiverClan.

The tom flinched, "I-i can-can't swim.." he said quickly. That should be enough of an answer right? This was ThunderClan's side of the shore anyway. He looked at her, the permanent look of fear mingled with curiosity. "You're a uh.. um.. R-riverCl-clan cat, right?" He meowed sheepishly. He saw how glossy her fur was and guessed that's what made them swim better, her scent as well. It was of reeds and wet grass.

Fallowstripe glanced around. "Yes." riposted Fallowstripe sternly. "I've never seen you with ThunderClan, though ya smell like 'em." Fallowstripe wrinkled her nose purposely. "But I'm not getting anywhere using small talk better than my claws if you ever do cross the border," said Fallowstripe. It seemed as if she were going to engage Falconpaw in battle, but she just stood rigid at the other side of the border.

Falconpaw shook his head, "I w-wasn't born i-in ThunderC-clan.." he flinched at her mention of claws and shook his head. "I w-wouldn't do th-that!" He quickly mewed, not wanting to anger her. He hated the idea of battle, or even just blood. It made him physically sick..

"Well, as long as you don't cross the border, I'm happy. And I'm sure Fishstar is happy, too." Fallowstripe meowed. She furrowed her brow at Falconpaw's statement about his ancestry. "Oh. Well, I'm sure it's a... touchy subject, so I won't ask." As spunky as Fallowstripe was, she knew when to clamp her jaws shut.

Falconpaw's tail curled slightly, "O-okay!" He liked the idea of making others happy. "H-how is RiverClan? I heard t-the river floods when it rains." The tom meowed with a bit of concern. He watched a silver fish dart past the banks.
