Survivors RP

Thunder looked up and wagged her tail. "Congratulations, Beta," The collie-mix wagged her tail as she dropped her gift at his feet- it was her master's doll, an old and torn plush human wearing a blue dress, clumsily made. Thunder had carried it for days in her jaws, never dropping it. She sat back shyly, looking down.
"It's all I have to give." She muttered to her paws.

Raven looked up from his place at guard and grabbed his gift, the smooth and flexible branch. Padding over to Cornel, no, Beta now. Placing the branch at the Beta's paws he said. "This branch shows that it has been through many tough times, but it has made it through. This branch shows that even when tough times are ahead, we will make it through with you being Beta." Turning away he sat near the edge of the gathering dogs. Nodding he decided that Cornel would be a good Beta.

 Fluff watched her Dad be presented with presents. Grabbing her body she waited by her mom until it was time for her turn. Wagging her tall, she stared at her mother until she had to blink. "When can I give him my present?" She said the words a little muffled through her mouthful of gifts. Dropping the stick and stone, she repeated the question to her mom. Flying her head, Fluff made a questioning face at Squirrel.

IC: Squirm was growing impatient, he wanted to give his gift now! But he knew he was going to be one of the last ones to be allowed to. 

Squirrel waited for her turn to present her gift patiently.

Beta instinctively blushed; he wasn't used to so many gifts being presented before him. Beta smiled retiringly at Thunder, who presented him with her gift. "I love it," he assured her. Beta hadn't even known this was to happen, but, he accepted it. He saw Squirrel, his match, waiting patiently, and his pup, Squirm, living up to his namesake.

Squirrel smiled a padded up to her mate, gift held gently in her jaws. She gently set the twig down in front of him, gesturing to the leaves gathered at the top.
"Just to remind you that if you stick together, you will rise to top. Good luck, Beta." Squirrel stepped back to her pups, still smiling in congratulations at her mate.

Beta smiled coolly at his mate, but couldn't keep the redness of being offered so many gifts out of his face. "Thank you," he whispered to Squirrel, brushing her neck with his. Beta was happy, but swallowed his pride. Beta would come with a lot of handiwork.

Alpha watched happily as gifts were presented to Beta. She remembered her pride and how honored she had felt when she had been receiving her gifts. She hoped Beta was feeling the same way.

Thunder sighed, but felt oddly relieved. That doll had held her down, reminding her of what she had left behind. She rolled her shoulders as if in a new pelt, wagging her tail joyfully.

After the rest of the pack had presented their gifts, Squirrel nudged her pups towards their father. "It's your turn to give your gifts now," she whispered to them.

Squirm bounded up to his father, tail wagging in excitement. He set down the feathers he had gathered in front of Beta. "Yay! You're Beta now! This reminded me of family, a big feather watching over little feathers!" Squirm explained excitedly, then nudged his sister. He waited for Fluff to present her gift.

Thunder yawned lazily, setting down in a patch of sunlight to watch the rest of the gifts be given to her new beta.
