Bumbling Stumbling Kits - Open

Mosskit parted her jaws. Her eyes narrowed as she slunk around a low bramble. Her eyes were fixed on her prey as she drew herself stealthily forward. Mosskit was a ThunderClan warrior, the finest the woods had ever seen! Her claws were deadly, her mind was sharp, and her eyes were bright.

Mosskit sat up, her eyes clouded with frustration. Why could 't she be a warrior now? She was only four moons younger than an apprentice, and that wasn't that bad a different!

Remembering her task, Mosskit dropped back into her crouch. Her silvery-blue and white pelt was fluffed, but she imagined that it was as sleek as any warrior's. With a final wriggle of her rump, Mosskit pounced.

Her claws closed around a crunchy scarlet leaf, and Mosskit let out a triumphant yow, bowling over her prey. She raked her claws through the leaf, then picked it up in her jaws, standing with a rpoud gleam in her brown eye as well as her blue. Had anyone seen her? She was brilliant!

Goosepaw was walking in the camp, when she saw a kit doing some funny moves. What was he up to? She steped closer and watched when kit raked his claws through the leaf. Then kit looked around, and Goosepaw said with smile: "Good catch!" She was not so older than him, because she haven´t been training for a very long time. Move which kit presented was on of the basic moves, which Goosepaw had to learn time ago. Then she asked a little kit: "What is your name?" She added: "Are you allowed to be out of the nursery?"

Mosskit kept her claws snagged tightly on the leaf as Goosepaw, an apprentice, padded up to her. Then the apprentice had the nerve to ask if Mosskit was old enough to be out of the nursery!

"Of course I am!" Mosskit mewed indignantly. Then she answered the she-cat's first query. "I'm Mosspaw. And I'm two moons old- I'm so old enough! Did you see me hunting that leaf? I'm pretty great, aren't I?"

Mosskit tossed the leaf into the air, then pounced on it again, her fluffy blue and white tail sticking straight into the air.

Her whiskers twitched in mischief, and Mosskit glanced at the apprentice out of the corner of her heterochromic eyes. "Are you old enough to be out without your mentor?" The she-kit asked in a teasing tone.

Goosepaw smiled and said: "Of course. I am training for a long time now and all apprentices can go and help other cats from their clan. Now, would you mind to take you back to the nursery, so you can show this pretty moves to your other siblings?"

Mosskit had two unique eyes, but both opened wide in indignation at Goosepaw's suggestion. She wanted to escort Mosskit back to the nursery? No way! And...

"I don't have littermates," the she-kit chirped, sitting down roughly. She cocked her head at Goosepaw. A thought struck her, and her eyes glowed. She had to go about this carefully- it was clear that Goosepaw could tell when she was being teased or not, so Mosskit had to choose her next words carefully.

"If you've been training so hard and so long, couldn't you teach me how to defend the clan like a real apprentice?" Mosskit asked. Then she flicked her ears and stood, shaking the leaf off of her claws, where it had impaled itself and stuck. "That is, unless you're not good enough."

She blinked at Goosepaw, eyes wide and innocent. Moment of truth! she thought, her claws gripping the loosened soil.

Goosepaw smiled and said: "Okay. But only one move. Then you must return to the nursery and do what kits do." Then she said with serious tone: "I will teach you one move called front paw blow. It is ussualy used to end fight without killing." Goosepaw lifted up her paw and then very fast and strong hit a tree near them. Sound of a hit was for a second in the air and Goosepaw looked into the Mosskit eyes, if she was still listening to her. "Now is your turn. Hit this tree..." But then Goosepaw remembered how Mistywater, her mentor taught her this move. "No, don´t hit the tree. It is not right feeling. Hit me." She was sure that kit´s claws won´t hurt her.

Mosskit wasn't sure how she felt about Goosepaw. She seemed nice enough if she was willing to teach Mosskit a battle move, but she also didn't seem to remember that this was what kits did! They ran around the camp, pretending to be warriors, and wanting to be apprentices! Maybe Goosepaw had just forgotten.

Mosskit watched attentively as Goosepaw struck at a nearby tree. The dull whap of the apprentice's paw against the tree trunk echoed loudly, tickling the soft fur inside Mosskit's ears. She cocked her head when Goosepaw instructed her to try it on her.

Mosskit hesitated, then sheathed her claws. She didn't want to hurt her clanmate, or she might never be a warrior! Mosskit eyed Goosepaw's frame, trying to decide what would be the best place to strike. Finally, after much deliberation, Mosskit darted forward and sprang up at the same time so that she could smack her paw into the hollow of Goosepaw's shoulder.

She rolled back to the ground on her paws, and her eyes shone. "How was that?"

Goosepaw was proud on little kit. Hit was good enough and after Mosskit will grew older, she would be able to hit harder. So she said: "It was perfect. Now you can defend you clan very good." Goosepaw was also sad, because it would be fun, if she would got Mosskit as her apprentice. But her training wasn´t ended yet, there was still one patrol and assessment waiting for here. "Now, will you mind if I acompany you to the nursery. I promise that I will visit you again. An I will be on your ceremony for apprentice."

OCC: You can PM me when Mosskit will have a ceremony, so Goosepaw can be there too.

Mosskit glowed as Goosepaw praised her. Her paw was throbbing the tiniest bit, but she shook it off. "I was pretty great, wasn't I?"

Mosskit's eyes opened wide in protest- Goosepaw was serious about going back to the nursery! Mosskit started to protest. "Really, Goosepaw, I'm not tired!"

Her jaws widened in an enormous yawn, pink maw and white teeth glistening. Mosskit shuffled her paws, then dropped her head. "Fine," she conceded. At Goosepaq's next words, Mosskit's silvery blue tail shot straight up. "Really?" She gasped. "That'd be so cool!"

Mosskit led the way back to the bramble-covered den that was her home. She crawled into her nest and faced Goosepaw with warm, friendly eyes. Perhaps Goosepaw was her friend after all. "Thank you!" she chirped.

Goosepaw smiled again and leaved Mosskit alone. Soon she would saw this funny kit again on big and important event for clan cat.

Falconkit narrowed her eyes at the acorn laying in front of her. She crouched low, tail wiggling up in the air. The kit let out a mighty roar (not really, it was more of a squeak) as she pounced on the acorn with a triumphant flick of her tail. "Ha! No prey can escape me, the mighty Falconstar! She yowled, pretending to be a leader, as most kits do.

Falconkit noticed the other kit, cocking her head in curiosity. The brown kitten raced into the Nursery, paws skidding on the stone. "Hi there! I'm Falconkit! Who're you?" She asked, sniffing the other kit curiously.
