Lynxkit's Apprentice Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to capture... their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Lynxkit sat in the entrance to the nursery, casting a look at his father that said something along the lines of 'Finally!' He had a smug smile plastered on his features as he approached the Jaggedrock, and his stride was confident and controlled. He had to look strong, capable, ready. His eyes flared with determination, he'd gotten sick of the kits in the nursery about a moon ago and was more than ready to join the apprentice den. Sitting at the base of the rock, he flicked his ear and did his best not to be impatient. Being over-eager was a kit-thing to do, and he was going to be an apprentice soon

Venompaw heard Thrushstar's yowl and padded to the entrance of the apprentice den. Seeing the kit sitting confidently at the base of the rock, she figured it must be an apprentice ceremony. She'd gotten sick of all the kit-like apprentices joining recently and sighed at the thought of another, but sat to watch anyway.

Shadewillow quickly thundered through the camp entrance, eyes alight with eager pride as he realized he hadn't missed the ceremony after all. It seemed like only a day ago that Lynxkit and Ryekit had been born, but look at them now- it almost would be time for both toms to join him in the warriors den! Sitting down close to the front of the throng, Shadewillow gazed out at the gathering crowd, wondering who would become his sons mentor.

Flamestrike padded into the clearing along with the other cats. It was great to see positive things still happening in clan life. After everything with Wolfpaw, despite him not being very involved, the warrior was exhausted. If only Hazeflight's family was a little more tame... like this, He commented, internally surveying the clan cats. Lynxkit looked eager, so Flamestrike quickly noticed it was an apprentice ceremony. Patiently, he waited for Thrushstar to begin.

OOC: HOW DID I MISS THIS I'M SO SORRY

"Tonight we gather to make this kit an apprentice," Thrushstar said. "Lynxkit, from now until you receive your warrior name, you will be... known as Lynxpaw. Your mentor will be Blazeflight now that she is feeling better. May... she teach you everything that she knows." With that, he leaped off of the rock to let the clan finish the ceremony.

Blazeflight arose from her nest in the warriors den, glad she could finally reside back in her nest. She had spent so much time in the medicine cats den that she had gotten used to seeing Honeydrop and Puddlepaw around all of the time. She arrived just in time to see Lynxpaw become an apprentice- her apprentice."Thank you Thrushstar! Lynxpaw, I hope I serve you well as a mentor." She touched noses with the small apprentice, glad to finally have one.

Lynxpaw felt a rush of happiness at hearing his new name, nodding gratefully before turning to his new mentor and touching noses
"I'll work hard as your Apprentice, from now until I become a warrior. I promise" He cast a quick, excited, glance at his father before looking back at Blazeflight
"I'm honoured to be your apprentice"

His tail held high in the air with happiness, Lynxpaw took a deep breath. He was an apprentice now, this was where the hard work truly begun
