Spiderkit and Badgerkit's Apprentice Ceremonies

"Let all cats old enough to capture their own prey gather underneath Jaggedrock for a clan meeting!" Thrushstar yowled.

Shadewillow padded out from the shelter of the Warrior's den, grateful for his thick fur as he became exposed to the brisk air that pricked at his face. Looking up curiously at Thrushstar, the newly-made warrior headed towards the gathered crowd of cats and settled down towards the side, gazing at his leader with expectant eyes.

Badgerkit strode out into the clearing with confidence, knowing exactly what was happening, and settled himself in the middle of everyone.

Spiderkit, on the other hand, walked out into the clearing with a much more anxious and nervious appearance, wondering about everything that could go wrong. Spiderkit sat next to Badgerkit, waiting for what would happen next.

"Tonight we gather to make... these two kits apprentices," Thrushstar said. "Spiderkit, from now on you will be known as Spiderpaw. Your mentor will be Shadewillow. Badgerkit, from now on, you will be known as Badgerpaw. Smokestripe will be your mentor. May they both teach you well in the ways of Shadowclan." With that, the leader leaped down to let the clan finish the ceremony.

Smokestripe had been watching the ceremony with interest. With the fact that Larksong already had an apprentice, he could only hope that he would get one as well  and lo and behold - his name was called out. He quickly got to his paws as he glanced at the young confident tom that had been named his apprentice. Reaching Badgerpaw, he dipped his head as he touched noses with him with a smile. He didn't say anything, rather excited to think of any words to say. His very own apprentice! He wouldn't let Thrushstar down.

Shadewillow rose to his paws at Thrushstar's words, and he began to weave his way through the crowd to reach the newly named apprentices, taking note of of Spiderpaw's rather nervous behavior. Stopping in front of the young she-cat, he gave her a warm, reassuring look- this was his first apprentice! "Nervous or not, she'll make a fine warrior." He decided, gently touching noses with the small she-cat. "I hope you're ready to begin your training." He mewed, a playful tone overtaking his voice.
