Can Jay's Fly Without Their Tail Feathers? (closed)

Jaypaw smiled as she gripped the hare in her jaws and raised her head from the tal moorland grass dusted with heavy snow. The blizzard obstructed mist of her vision, and the youg apprentice longed for the warmth of Beetlepaw's den where the two apprentuces started hanging out together. The medicine cat apprentice seemed to need quite much, but Jaypaw was glad to help him out.

The gray she-cat squinted as a dark shade started bounding towards her through the mist, reeking oddly, and she apprentice started backing off until she couod see it properly. A huge, black-brown hound, it's liver brown tongue lolling from it's mouth stared her down viciously. Jaypaw gasped, dropping her prey and fled back, but the lunge of the dog was larger, and it gripped her by the tail, yanking her back. Pain racked her body whennthe teeth sank and when the hound pulled her back, but soon her only felt numb.

With the greatest effort she had ever felt in her life, she scrambled up a tree, blooding marking the bark, scrapped below by the dog. Jaypaw wrapped her legs around a branch, pressing herself to it in horror. She fell asleep to the terrifying barks of the dog. In her limbo, she couldn't tell, after hours, maybe minutes, the barking stop. Jaypaw dropped her pained head, falling asleep...

Willowwhisker was out patrolling the borders with Smokepelt when she heard the barking and snarling of a nearby dog. Not wanting to cause any trouble, she began to walk the other way when she heard the helpless mewling of the small cat, and unable to resist helping the cat she heard, she dashed into the direction of the sounds she was hearing. She left Smokepelt behind her without a word and soon came across a large, barren tree, marked with blood. Scanning the tree up and down, she spotted a small cat in the tree, eyes closed and looking like she was about to fall. This is Jaypaw! Not knowing what to do about the poor spooked apprentice, she began to scale the tree carefully, not wanting to spook the gray she-cat even more. Finally reaching the branch the apprentice was on, she grabbed it by the scruff, wet and dry blood scraping against her pelt. She carefully clawed the branch and slid down gracefully with Jaypaw in her mouth. Exhausted, she sat the small scrap of fur on the ground carefully, beginning to take deep breaths from the nervous rescue.

Padding next to Willowwhisker, Smokepelt was enjoying the day until the sound of barking caught his attention. Walking after his daughter, he came to a halt at the edge of the territory and watched as she climbed up a tree. "Be careful!" he mewed nervously. Waiting a few moments, she soon brought the cat down from the tree. Well, although the smaller cat was injured, he could still see a steady breath coming from her side and that reassured him that she was at least alive. "We need to get her back to camp!" the deputy meowed, grabbing Jaypaw's scruff.

Dragging Jaypaw towards camp by her scruff, he wasn't able to reply to Willowwhisker but gave the she-cat a simple nod. They needed to get the apprentice back to camp as soon as possible and wondered if Beetlepaw would be able to path her up. I just hope this didn't emotionally scar her too much, the deputy thought to himself quietly.
