Aspenpaw and Amberpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" hollered Fishstar.

I guess a warrior ceremony will happen soon... Buzzardpaw thought as he walked towards the willow branch.

Aspenpaw strode out of her den, taking her place beneath the willow branch. She knew there were no kits in the nursery old enough to become apprentice's, so this meeting must be a warrior ceremony. Maybe it's mine! About time!
Tawnystorm padded out of her nest at Fishstars's call, and sat beneath the branch. She looked onwards in anticipation.

Amberpaw strolled from the apprentice den after Aspenpaw with a slight yawn, her long fur bristling in the cold air as she raised her gaze up to Fishstar. Her ears twitched in excitement, rather sure that the ceremony was for her. Her paws itched in excitement, her eyes glimmering as she sat down near Aspenpaw. She held her breath, waiting to see if the ceremony was truly for her as she was expecting.

Seeing that both her daughter and Amberpaw arrived, Tawnystorm began the ceremony. She was proud of her daughter, even if she didn't always appreciate it. "Amberpaw, Aspenpaw - please step forward."

Aspenpaw stepped forward, letting a glimmer of excitement slip into her eyes. I'm going to be a warrior!

Amberpaw quickly got to her paws as her name was called, stepping up next to her denmate with glimmering eyes. There was so much excitement in this one moment, already building up for the two words she knew she would have to speak in a matter of moments.

"I, Tawnystorm, warrior of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices. They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as a warrior in turn. Amberpaw, Aspenpaw, do you promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?" Tawnystorm asked, each word echoing around the camp.

"I do," Aspenpaw spoke loudly and confidently. For tonight, she could put away her squabbles with Tawnystorm. It was her time to shine.

"I do." The words were filled with excitement as Amberpaw echoed after her denmate, a bit sad that her mentor couldn't be doing the ceremony herself but still, a ceremony was better then no ceremony at all - even if it wasn't Fishstar doing it. She shifted on her paws, wondering what her warrior name would be.

Tawnystorm nodded and smiled. "Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Aspenpaw, from this day forward, you will be known as Aspentail. Amberpaw, from this day forth, you will be known as Amberpelt. The Clan honours your loyalty and strength." With that, she jumped down from the branch, concluding the ceremony. She was proud of Aspentail - even if it didn't always show, she wanted her to know it was true. Amberpelt, she had no doubts about. She'd make an excellent warrior.

Aspentail. The newly named warrior smiled proudly, flashing a grin to anyone who would see. She'd made it. She was a warrior.
