Greypaw and Squirrelpaw's Warrior Ceremony

"Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the willow branch for a Clan meeting!" Though displeased with all the snow around her, Fishstar was glad that RiverClan was flourishing as well as it was.

Greypaw padded over from the apprentice den when she heard Fishstar announce a clan meeting. Will we have new warriors?

Squirrelpaw scrambled to the very front of the group of cats that had just begun to move towards Fishstar. Her ears were pricked, fluffy tail straight up and her fur ruffled. She glanced up at the leader, let out a grin, and sat down, green eyes wide and bright with excitement.

Buzzardpaw sat on his haunches, wondering what this clan meeting was about.

"Greypaw and Squirrelpaw, please stop forward," Fishstar said.

Greypaw stepped forward.

Squirrelpaw, her pale, fluffy ears pricked forward, green eyes glinting knowingly, leapt forward beside Greypaw. She hadn't groomed herself at all for this; it had taken her slightly by surprise although she'd known it was coming—and her fur stuck up. Still, she gave her chest a quick, brief lick.

Smokeface blinked with a soft smile upon his muzzle as he watched his daughter step forward and become a warrior. She had worked so hard to reach to this moment, and with Shatteredpaw gone, she would be the first to become a warrior through his kits.

Morningfog joined her mate in the ceremony, pride shining in her eyes as she watched her rowdy daughter becoming a warrior, she had just been a kit in Morningfog's eyes, now, she'd share the same den with her mother and get her own apprentice. She was still mourning the loss of Shatteredpaw, wherever he had gone, one of their warriors had disappeared as well, he hoped they found each other at least. She purred in amusement as Squirrelpaw for once groomed her fur, even just slightly.

"I, Fishstar, leader of RiverClan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on these apprentices." She looked to each of them sternly. "They have trained hard to learn the ways of your noble code, and I commend them to you as warriors in turn. Greypaw, Squirrelpaw, do you all promise to uphold the warrior code, and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your lives?"

"Yes, I do" She replied, meeting Fishstar's gaze. Her pelt was still covered with scratches from Smokepelt, although she was glad the RiverClan leader had revenge on the flea-ridden fox-hearted mouse-brained deputy. Pride rippled threw her body and she was glad it was finally time for her to become an warrior.

"I do!" chirped Squirrelpaw, her tail brushing the ground slightly as she lifted it, eyes sparked with enthusiasm and kit-like pleasure.

"Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior names. Squirrelpaw, you shall now be known as Squirreltuft. Greypaw, you shall now be known as Greygaze. RiverClan honours your loyalty and hard work." With that, the Clan began to chant their new names.

Greypaw spun around and happily touched noses with his old mentor. It was Fracturedhawk who had taught him everything, and he would pass everything down to her apprentice.

Fracturedhawk touched noses with his now old apprentice, a certain proud gleam in his gaze. He had taught him everything he needed to know, and now all that information would be passed down to whoever gets to be mentored by the newly named Greygaze.
